Bought at R218. Where do you see this one going in the next month gamma?

Same here. Bought at 218 recently. Price is a bit high so not sure in the near term but am in with a much longer term view. >5-10yrs. Over that period I see little downside risk. Will look to add on any dips going forward.

Over the next couple months it will blow around along with the whims of the market I'm sure. If you looking for a quick trade I would not think a long position on APN is your best bet.

Cheers

Do not try and bend the market. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. Then you'll see, that it is not the market that bends, it is only yourself.

Thoughts on getting into Aspen now for the long term?

Buy and hold and it'll soon be gold

-_- ...maybe gold is not the best analogy...

Started scaling in around 219. Will look to build a nice position over the next few months.

Then there is the Merck transaction, similarly valued @ $1 billion. Aspen intends to finance that deal as per this SENS.

Man, oh man, let's hope there is no 'indigestion' ..

There shouldn't be. It's not like a merger where there is a cultural assimilation and often failure. The new product here goes straight into the sales basket. As long as the sales and marketing strategy is sound this should do just fine. Given the previous demonstration of management competence there is no reason to doubt their ability on this aspect.

Aspen Offers to Buy Glaxo Heart Medicines for $1.1 Billion

Arixtra and Fraxiparine are part of a portfolio of more than 50 older products that Glaxo has carved out into a separate unit. The two drugs generated about 420 million pounds in global revenue in 2012 compared with 510 million pounds the previous year, Simon Steel, a spokesman for London-based Glaxo, said by phone June 18. The sale would exclude rights in China, India and Pakistan.

Not to worry about the lower revenue generated in 2012 vs. 2011 ?
(It's nevertheless a whopping amount of revenue. Aspen has been in my portfolio for over a year, I am sorry that I didn't buy more at the time. Need to find some more info as to how the deal is to be financed).

Aspen's come back very nicely after buyers went a little overboard. This would be a good entry IMO.

In view of the recent positive news I have been adding to my portfolio. I do believe that in the longer term this counter will add value to the portfolio.

I get the feeling that the funds will try and accumulate as discreetly as possible. The counter is expensive, as always... ;)

I agree, if you want it...... your going to pay for it now

Even worse...I saw the opportunity at R185 and didn't act

I have 000 shares but wish I had 10000

Will look to buy the next dip. Being in the pharma sector myself I'm convinced these guys will be worth 10x in 10 years

could be a very good deal for Aspen.

http://www.moneyweb....hrombosis-drugs

these 2 drugs had combined sales of R~6.6B

would add almost 30% to their top line

Aspen is down ~16% in the past 30 days. I've been wanting to get in for a long time and this could be the best opportunity in awhile.

Any thoughts on the company would be welcome.
