Can anyone recommend a stockbroking account, that can be specifically opened for my company (want to buy shares through the company and not in my own name)

Much appreciated

Anyone using the ABSA Stockbrokers online online platform - here is a survey. Hopefully ABSA use the information gathered to get their issues sorted out.

Also facing the same issues with ABSA. Complete asshats running the show there.

Does anyone have recommendations (not EE) for a good trading platform with competitive costs (low) and allows for warrants? Looking to move my assets over ASAP to get away from too much Africanacity.

I everyone,

As you know from the posts below ABSA moved to a new (Crapppppp) trading platform.

Made a deposit into the trading account yesterday. Still not showing in the trading account. Finally got hold of someone at ABSA trading to ask why - Answer all the deposits that the client make still gets allocated by their systems to the OLD platform accounts (Which is currently inactive). They are working on it to get their systems to transfer it to the new platform - WHAT A LOAD OF BULLLLL

If I were the CEO of ABSA I would march all the IT and everyone involved on this project out to the back of the building and SHOOT THEM ALLLLLLL. And any survivors will be shot again....

Really bad service.....

So, if you are missing money on your account, now you know why....

Everyone who worked on this new platform and everyone they reported to - clowns!!!

Bushmanbob, Thank you for the reply.

For everyone else that who was not informed, like myself, ABSA Stockbrokers moved over to a new trading platform.

I finally got a reply back form them:

Good day,

Please be advised that your account has been migrated to our new platform. Kindly note in order to access the new site, please go to the link below. On the new site you will be required to reset your password. Please click on the forgot password link. You will be required to enter your username and an OTP will be sent to you via SMS.

You will be required to reset your password. Once your password has been reset you will be prompted to login with your username and password.

https://sb.absastockbrokers.co.za/#/auth/login

This would have been some nice information to share with your clients ABSA before just cutting us off on the old platform. I hope you all involved in this pathetic looking site and the change over have diaree for the next 30 day. Maybe next time get someone that,s not in primary school to design your platforms and someone who have two brain cells to inform your clients before just cutting them of from their money. IDIOTS THE WHOLE LOT OF YOU

Completely agree JR7800 - I am furious about it too.  I will continue voicing my disgust, just as soon as one of them can actually be bothered enough to answer a phone.  I was actually volunteered to test this thing a month or 2 ago and said it was hopelessly complicated.  Next step, I close my account and move to another broker who actually want my business.

Try logging in to sb.absastockbrokers.co.za

The new platform is vastly different and not at all user friendly / obvious. Once logged in you have to work out how it all works and again, it isn't very clever at all.   You have the option of clicking on the banner "Trade Like a Professional" and it opens a new window.  You then click on the training tab and start watching presentations.

You cannot get hold of anyone at ABSA which really is an indication of just how poorly they view their customers.  The new trading platform is a massive departure from the more user friendly version and it seems is aimed more at "professional" traders but it is an absolute nonsense to anyone else (compared with their old platform).  They really do not give a damn.

Good day everyone,

I have a long term investment portfolio with ABSA stockbrokers.

Since yesterday I cannot log in to m account and have been on hold for almost 7 hours now with their call center/help desk.

Is it just me or are anyone else that are using them also having issues currently?

Hi Guys,

Hope someone can help, and not sure if this thread would do.

Is it possible to buy shares on a different country's stock exchange, while still in SA.

I am interested in buying shares in Orion Minerals, but not on the JSE but rather the ASX.

We will be immigrating to Aus in a year or so, and it seems easier to already buy the shares on that side.

Otherwise f

I’m sure there are more professional platforms but I’m quite chuffed with FNB’s Global Trader.

You can set up a demo account to start off with. Call Centre is helpful.

My friend uses pepperstone which is Auz, Im not sure if you only put funds in off your credit card or what, never looked into it, but hes used if for some time....trades forex, equities etc..

uture dividends or sale of shares will need to be transferred over.

Invest smart - buy low sell high - thats all there is to it. If you know that you can do that then go to https://satrix.co.za/ for lowest possible cost and put yourself in charge. If no clue then you need to leap into an act of faith and then pay fees for advice plus fees for management plus admin fees plus access fees. Theres a lot of mouths to be fed in the financial services industry including marketing and sponsorships. Take Investec S.A. where all but one of their directors are sales people. These people are very expensive, because they made themselves expensive. Someone must pay. Join the queue. Trading is a mugs game. The cards are stacked against you. 7 out of 10 will lose their shirt and never go back. The brokers need punters so they have recruiting of replacement mugs campaigns, like this.

A flurry indeed.

Note: "If you know that you can do that" requires you be honest with yourself. You may think you can consistently call it, but you will never know this to be the case. You can base your decision making on gossip columns, charts, bone throwing or ouija no matter cos it is still guesswork for everyone.

The best trading systems are operated by the brokers. They never go broke you see.

Your broker knows exactly what you are doing, even better than you. Your market maker has no intentions of going broke and knows how to ensure this.

So what is it that you have up your sleeve?

  1. Trusting strangers on an anonymous chat forum can be a risky business. Even more risky than the stock market.
  2. I have tried to warn the vulnerable, being those without adequate savvy: e.g.: https://swrict.blogspot.com/2018/11/sharechat-warning.html
  3. Vultures circle hereabouts. Give them control and say goodbye to your money.

I have about 30 dif shares...10 running at a loss, but I am not selling and 20 at a profit. In the end I still have more than Double that I put in. I think one can make more by trading but I just don't have the time now.

Brab I'm a newbie here and I also thought like u have.... Not to sell at a loss.... But I'm also learning slowly that sometimes u gotta sell at a loss to prevent a bigger loss.... I also pay attention to the market trend... If it's a constant down trend.... Stay away

MTN seems like it's in trouble again
