Article dischem...And Dis-Chem’s update after the close on Friday was a shocker! This has been one of our core shorts for ages and we were looking for the first half to be down around 6% on a reported basis, but some clients thought we might see a result as bad as -20%. NO-ONE was expecting the -39-41% (pre-IFRS16) and -38-40% (Post IFRS16). Lots of once offs impacting numbers but they are still very, very messy (down 9%) if we strip these out. Consensus is looking for 92c for the full year, already down from 105c around 6 months ago and the ~31c for the first half means that 80c for the FY will be a miracle (the first half is normally stronger btw). The really interesting debate is what multiple you put my very generous ~80c on? Despite everything that mgmt. have achieved to build up this business from scratch, DCP’s track record in the listed environment is chequered at best and despite the well-documented tailwinds for formalised pharma, I would suggest a 20x multiple is seriously generous and that gives you R16 TP, 6 months forward and LOTS of downside. Some market participants will buy into a view that the numbers will turnaround later in the forecast period and call a floor around the recent R20 lows….good luck to them…

Was agreeing with you and observing about others. Not you. The overtrader one got it right, go see.

Always better to check that you understand.

Not that anything thrown at me hereabouts surprises or concerns.

OK sorry my bad.

More coffee before engaging with others next time... :(

Why would I have an agenda...? On more than many occasions I've supported your argument as to the oft "Grooming" that's taken place on this forum.

I don't have broker friends...I do promote Wescoal & have for yrs (Note to newbies....I'm overly emotional of this share & I know I shouldn't be)

What I do have "feelings" about is this place is now as you prefer it a vacuum inhabited by yourself with the odd occasion of outside comments.

So congratulations on your success it's lonely at the top or so they say...

Cheers.

  1. Trusting strangers on an anonymous chat forum can be a risky business. Even more risky than the stock market.
  2. I have tried to warn the vulnerable, being those without adequate savvy: e.g.: https://swrict.blogspot.com/2018/11/sharechat-warning.html
  3. Vultures circle hereabouts. Give them control and say goodbye to your money.

Funny you should note this. I have been thinking the same and about there is never any why other than "feelings".

Its quiet atm. I expect the next foray of broker friends to arrive as a gaggle of long lost associates at any ordained moment.

Doubt soutie has a conspiracy theory I think just being helpful..in my book banking .8 percent better than waiting share to drop below what you paid, I'd rather buy back cheaper, but don't need explain myself too you...my account doing ok, my broker is private and doing nicely out of my learning curve. Appreciate soutie and actually polly warned me watch risk to rewards...have a charming evening

Thanks Soutie, yes I too took profit which was great...re entered around 103 mark....now just waiting game..rand was very strong yesterday as well...still s#it when you shares look from even if temporarily

Looking at the above you're only enriching the market maker...Re entered at R103 out today at R103ish & wanting to re enter at R102 that's not volatility....that's over trading.

Create some space between you & the market to breathe bud...
