Excuse the embarassing question, but when is it a BEAR trap and when a BULL trap?

Sent from my GT-N7000 using Sharenet Sharechat mobile app

Price goes down and all the Bears think this is the BIG DROP that they have been waiting for. They go heavily short in anticipation... and then price moves in the opposite direction, forcing them to cover and sending the price up FAST!

Opposite for Bulls..

Bear trap: Shorts get "sucked in" on a move down just to see the price rally again and them being squeezed out. The opposite applies for bull trap.

For those thinking of playing the long term short there might be lots of pain in the next 5 days. 47000 is inevitable 47800 probable and 48750 possible. FInal topping in at 49120 months end - 2nd week in September. SP500 only starting on its parabolic tear away to 2020..We had ignition , now the liftoff

TellyTubby rhymes with... Chubby??

If 46440 (f) is not breached, we may see another leg down. There is still the gap at 45650 that needs closing.

Although well spotted, I still dont buy that A,,,,, August, Sept and Oct are normally bearish months!! Maybe a failed H&S if you ask me!!!

Lets wait and see!!

i agree and think the we'll test the 45000 mark again until it breaks then head back up

DOW is in the process of confirming an inverted H&S (bullish) that should push her to new highs too! (Intermediate V of Major 5 of Primary III)

Any weakness tomorrow on TOP40 should be bought into, targets already mentioned!

Being new to the futures game and Reading this thread constantly over last couple of months, I really want to thank @Argento@HBD@Vertebrae@RusQ and @RBM for some great insights and sharing their knowledge. Especially @HBD,@Vertebrae and @RusQ that always has time for everyone's questions

Well, thank you.

My contributions are minor and I (certainly) would not include myself on such a list

Glad you had some benefit from my posts though!

46200 has arrived on the futures... The bulls have to defend this, otherwise we close the gap tomorrow...

Ooo Snap!

Looks like another test of the neckline of a broken H&S. (On daily chart it is best visible)

I'm short with a moderate position size.
