When Ellies went public a lot of the top level management were given shares.  At some point these people want to cash out some of these shares for personal reasons.  I dont see R20mil as a big selloff by directors.  The fact remains that their top level management are smart guys.  They're moving more and more into the energy space and i think they will make good profit there.  The price probably did overheat a bit last year and maybe we're just seeing a correction to that now.

Why would you want to buy into ELI when the directors have sold off almost R20 million of their own shares? This after the CEO was asked last year on TV if there is anything wrong with Ellies.

"Shareholders are advised that Ellies expects that its earnings per share and headline earnings per share for the six months ended 31 October 2013 will be between 38% and 43% lower compared to its earnings per share and headline earnings per share for the six months ended 31 October 2012. I've taken quite a pain from Ellies.
Down some 22% and dragging my portfolio down.
Even had to cut my holding.

Not sure now what to do

What did you see in this business that convinced you to buy in the first place? Do you still see it now?

Do not try and bend the market. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. Then you'll see, that it is not the market that bends, it is only yourself.

 Their earnings doesnt mean much..

Rather look at their debt, what is lying in "inventories" and their cash situation

Agreed.those set top boxes gathering some dust
