why short? if it breaks that resistance then surely it will continue or am I missing something?
don't think so..money would be on a pullback down to 123-125 unless general market is supportive of higher moves. thanks for your input/view though..appreciated

So where do we see prices of gold mining shares going? Heavy downward spiral the past few weeks. Either gotta cut my losses and run, or ride it out a bit longer
beware of mining(gold) longer term is a "no" in my view, trend is down. cfd diff story, play volatility either up or down.

Hi QB
I can remember as a kid that we had ~25 gold mines listed on the JSE. Today only 3 and some minors digging in the dirt.
Gold counters are for trading, not holding. The medium term outlook for gold is not good (Fed, seasonality, etc.). Gold-mining inflation is way above CPIX. So we will need the ZAR to fall to at least R12.50 to the USD to see any sort of recovery.
If you can ride out another 30% drop in the hope of recovery, then hold. Otherwise sell and never hold them again, unless you trade them.
Only my personal opinion.

Well, gold did bounce off that 1180 level. So there might be a some downside (gold counters), but if gold can find its feet there might be some sort of "relief" rally.
Otherwise, I call it a good day

Ja it's awesome and naspers. Great close by both of them.
YEah, looking at SBK weeklies I am quite excited. Think I'll buy into strength further above 125.

False break or the start of the next leg down.....to be continued....
Brave trade man.....I'd put in a stop somewhere.....
If gold does go below $1200 overnight American ADR's in GFI - ANG could influence SGL at Fridays open...!
Fed taper could be the news the market was looking for to test $1200
Best of luck
you correct soutie..being somewhat of a gamble on SGL, was hoping that price would stay above $1200..now looking to a bounce off current levels or from $1180...who knows
in retrospect should of waited for at least 24h post taper for settling of price/direction before committing to a position long or short.
either way!!..this ride gonna be wild
