def some sort of relief rally on retailers happening..somewhat skeptical of its continuity. TFG succesfully shaken short positions out of their recent trading channel..sneaky buggers
still in short with total average cost sitting exactly 104.00

Thanks gamma. Ja I really see it going to R300 by year end. But am in the same boat as you with cfds. It's a company to just keep buying and holding for life as an equity.

any advice on APN, is 270 practical target?

@delta. My exposure is ok coz have made good profit. But don't know if I should get out now. Or hold a tiny bit longer. I'm definitely not going to hold longer than Friday if I do hold. But ja good profit locked is name of the game. Tough decision hey?
Actually Cuzin, that's definitely not the name of the game.
Wasn't it you talking of R300 just the other day?
If you're a trader I can understand but an investor would be retarded to sell here.
That said, I've a CFD position open at 218 which I'll be closing at some point in the near future. Also have APN in my LTP which I hope I never will have to sell.

i'm somewhat hedged, holding them in my LT port but still crazy how it took off(5.49% ), took a third of my position on entry so have some scale for averaging down...
thanks for your input guys

thank goodness order wasn't placed. i'm better sticking to longs will revisit the idea of adding to my short tomorrow.
the retail stocks seem to be making a bit of a run this week, WHL, LEW, SHP, and now JDG and TFG, probably caused by WHL and SHF results.

TFG also took me for a punk

Clearly defined trading channel since June.......stochastic overbought. Will put the line in the water with a small position, then add with the confirmation....

spoke to a institutional buyer that bought around 220 they have revised their fwd high estimate around 270. techs point to a strong breakout. if theirs pullback i might be a buyer
The only time Aspen will fall, is when they find a cure for HIV and Aids or people stop feeling stick again.
That will only happen when pigs start to fly.
Rather wait for a big correction then enter. Even when they wanted to bomb Syria, Aspen did not budge. Just more medicine to cure the injured in Syria.
Naspers, Aspen, Richemont, Sasol, Imperial, Bidvest, Mondi are good stocks which dont pull back easily. For every correction on them buy with both hands

Please ... bear with me! I am an ALSI-guy.
A share like APN (Aspen), it really had a whopper 52+ weeks thus far. I recall I was dabbling in it with CFDs more than a year ago. Is there plenty more upside to this boytjie?
Many thanks!

Thanks for the reply.
I definitely think so....techinically making all time new high (some may say its share price has factored all this good news in)......but with existing solid brands (among generics) + acquiring additional brand leaders, plus globally diversifying into other regions with greater margins (and rand hedge), I cannot see how this share price cannot go higher. Great management team who have consistently proven themselves over and over again. (And there is always the probability of them being bought out 100% by Glaxo Smith Kline....) Just my thoughts...
