Forum's been quiet of late....

What you say to a resource counter to purchase in the new year. I'm looking at a few but my area of focus at the moment is Sasol.  The first sign of an uptick in the  oil price will have it out of the blocks running, Rand hedge of sorts, The ethane cracker in the states ( some complicated sh%t that to value ) massive market share in SA, BBBBBEEEEE sorted without any complications further down the road. Big barriers to entry.....Well you get the gist me hopes.

Biggie is just how low will it go Tech Analysis not the strongest string in my bow..

What say the group...? What say the lurkers....? What say the beserkers....?

Yeah, I don't know - seems to be recovering now from a low of 355 earlier today.

Any idea why Torre has been on such a poor run?

Could this be a reason?
@keithmclachlan: ...and now Torre has effectively bought 10% of Rolfes. Appears like Rolfes is the new hot investment being shopped around the market.

PGR as well. CIL and PGR are not paying dividends.

At this avg return for the year is around 35% or so...

Helped by a nice day 1 profit taken on Balwin.

That is a healthy return man  ;)

It seems lately that these private placements are free money - well if you can get an allocation of course  -_-

+Hooligan. Hold onto MTA. The Turkish Lira is flying after the elections.

Yeah I'm chilled till Feb.  If results turns out to be strong I can be patient a while longer

MTA seems to be turning. Winter has started early this year so perhaps we will have a really cold one. Battery sales from Turkey will get a boost. Last year we had a mild winter that affected sales.

Hallo Guys

LTP is not doing too great this year - looking at about 18% YTD and hoping to close the year off with at least 20%.

Biggest and only loser remains Metair - I've been looking to get rid of this...but every time I check the figures again, especially now at around R29 is seems like a good deal to me.  :P  Yet weak sentiment remains - perhaps it has me right by the balls.

Looking to get into some Tech/IT, Healthcare and maybe financial services for next year.

Also have a few cents allocated for the commodities space

How are you guys faring?

Have a bid in for ARM results look OK but more importantly their plan to mitigate the drop in prices for their goods seems comprehensive & well thought out.

Given the situation they operate in namely partnerships/joint ventures etc.. there's plenty experience to draw from while this down cycle plays out.

Divi is not to shabby either @ R3.50

Anyone got somming to add...?

Well at these levels risk adjusted return (which I've been reading a bit about) seems ridiculously low.....most of their projects are majorly capital intensive & will pay off down the line & keep paying, they're also major funding barriers to entering these types of mega projects, another plus. Cheap oil will filter through to shipping boosting their pretty lame profits of late. Bit of a Rand hedge in there as well. Big partner in Remgro.

Those are my reasons based on the research I've done to date.

Will buy more on a rebound up to R15ish or drop below R10.....Either or.....Which ever maps out....

Cheers & good weekend to all.
