Yes, Orca. And as you have proven over and again your CML seems to ride out the storms. Only with minor change in price.

Long term portfolio.

After reading market reports today, I am seriously thinking of switching to cash. Tax implications will be a minor problem if I can avoid a correction.
Put my thinking cap on and decided that R28K expenses with selling and buying back in is not worth it. Probably as always will miss the bottom and loose more. We have lived through many bad news and May months since the crash and survived.
Since there is no repeat of a major Lehman Bros scenario, I will just stay in.
I started here with nothing and still have most of it left.

Wait to see the outcome of the FOMC meeting @ 19:00 our time. It will tell you how the markets are likely to react going forward ...
No end in sight for Fed stimulus as inflation sags
Despite the economy's softer tone, a wait-and-see attitude seems the most likely approach for now. The Fed is expected to nod to the economy's disappointing performance when it announces its decision at 2 p.m. (1800 GMT), even as it maintains its course.
But if the economy's fortunes do not improve, the U.S. central bank may well look for fresh ways to boost its support to the economy -- increasing the amount of assets it is buying is just one option.

To raise capital through the sale of debt to improve liquidity and fund expansion spending. Could be floating rate notes.
It's probably part of PNC's DMTN Program.

What's happening with PNC? Has nobody noticed? Up 3.8% today even though it's sector is at a low due to governments cutting down on spending and people buying tabs instead of laptops.
There was no SENS out but JSE news that stated this:
LISTING OF NEW INSTRUMENT The JSE Limited has granted Pinnacle Technology Holdings Limited the listing of its PTH01 Note, in terms of its ZAR2,500,000,000 Domestic Medium Term Note Programme dated 19 April 2013.
What does this mean?

What's going on with Vodacom, back down below 105! Any ideas...
have no idea, waiting for the div and will be lowering my exposure in favor of more aggressive growth prospects. seeing the performance of some of my holdings makes VOD look very sluggish...that or i've become greedy chasing higher returns
have a great weekend everyone! see you all Monday again

Vod is about 10% of my portfolio, bought them some years ago. I am a long term investor and my concern for the future is the drop in both data prices and call rates. If SAB has to lower their beer prices every year and only bargain on costumer growth their earnings will come under pressure.
I don't plan to sell my vod shares, because of the div, I am also not going to add, though I am tempted.

yeah, they have had the tail end of bad sentiment the last few months. my entry cost comes in at R96.39 so seen a lot of alpha slowly eroded coming off their last "high" (VOD is 27.7% of my portfolio) good stock to hold with their div on a LT portfolio.
VOD is my CML (as in ORCA's golden egg) bought at inception with the TKG split, have added since when too good to resist so in at 59.33. I too expect a good divi but cannot understand the recent drop it's experiencing?

At this price VOD is a no brainer. current 7.7% DY with an even higher forward yield of ?%

hallelujah!!..VOD playing catch up this morning on the back of their earnings report. was getting disillusioned somewhat with their trajectory but glad i stayed in, with the div around the corner and strong results we should be seeing R120+ barring any major negative news

"Figures like that really make day trading a temptation".
Agreed, ORCA ... I'll keep listening and learning.
