Lewis also catching a bit of a hiding. Maybe there is a connection there.

The title of this thread just sums my feelings perfectly. I think the market overreacts way too much when there's just the slightest hint of possible negative news on this stock.

Maybe something to do with JD Group's negative trading statement
It makes no sense cause JD group is up quite aggressively today. Assuming this is on the back of the announcement of the sale of the book, I cant reconcile the two stocks fortunes today.
I think there is possibly some institution who's had a change of heart about the stock. I expect a bounce tomorrow.

Any idea what is going on with Steinhoff? I thought the trading update yesterday was positive & the share jumped 1.3% end of day. Today already down 3% & big volumes by10.30am?
Thanks

The accelerated Book Build closed with a discount of 6.8%, hence the share price dropped to within that level. Good time to add or buy if you have not yet done so.
My rough calc given the increase in the weighted average number of shares and the discount on newly issued shares gives a price of 53.71, assuming the previous close is R59
So I rate the market got it roughly right..

Massive volumes going through at the moment...think its worth a shot getting in nowValue of transactions from 9am to 10am - 1 927 528 034
Now: 2 453 333 513 massive volumes...-7.8%
i see there's a good reason for this judging from Aragorn's comment

Guess who shouldnt give advice again
Read "Future Warren Buffet's" post. Explains it perfectly. SHF is a LT holding. If day-to-day movements bother you then don't invest in equity.
And,
If you base your investment decisions on 1 person's opinion (not "advice") then you're doing it wrong.
I own lots of Steinhoff. Let's hope for that turn around to come soon. It will, in time...

Probably just a response from the accelerated book-build results. Increased supply of shares, market just needs time to adjust to the dilution.

Anyone got an opinion on the 8% drop of Steinhoff shares? Maybe a chance to get in big?

So i got in with Steinhoff @ 3735c and today they are at 5644c, which is a good 51.1% return.
Im just wondering when to exit this investment? Any ideas?
I got in last year June @ 24.50. I scaled down last week Friday right after the 2% climb @ 57.00. Really like this share but just got a feeling the price will decrease. Will probably jump in again later.
