POY looking very cheap. They have a fair value gain of R2.90-current share pricex46.5m shares as a result of the IFRS accounting method for their previous acquisition. With the sale of their loss making divisions the share should rally over the next few reporting seasons.

Anybody know what news all the buyers out there know...??

Had a look at the average size deal going down today. Looks like retail players think there is some value but I dont see any big player "commitment" deals.......

This share is taking a pounding. I added to bring down my average to 262. Very painful at the moment

Sorry to mess up your day but I was speaking to a middle level employee who is an acquaintance last week. People-wise things are not at all lekker in this enterprise and he is looking elsewhere for work..... Use it lose it.

Jinne, it's been a rollercoaster with POY the last few months.

I doubled my money in 2 months after investing, then 2 months later it halves again. Back to purchase price...

I gotta be honest too. The biggest reason for buying POY originally was the PSG influence and the fact that I've never lost backing Jannie Mouton.

Anybody else own some?

I just wanted to bring this back onto page 1 again. It's showing a turnaround atm and I increased my holding last week.

With Aucom in place their normalised earnings will be between 15 and 20c.  I think closer to 200c the share will start offering value.

This is unexpected drop today. Anyone want to guess if we reacht eh 575 level again before year end? Any idea whether Div could be expected to get some levels of return on the investment or is to early or presumptious?  Guess time will tell

Any idea what could have make profit fall like that?
Was there any new acquisitions?
And with the expected fall in share price, will this signal an opportunity to increase one's holding?

Based on the trading statement below my OPINION would be to buy in (I wanted to). According to the share trading website I use directors sold a lot of shares yesterday but the SENS out only shows one for almost a R1 mil. The only thing is knowing what happened to PNC and seeing the directors/insiders sell so many shares before a trading statement scares me.

SENS below with some excuses:

Trading statement

POYNTING HOLDINGS LIMITED
Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa
(Registration number 1997/011142/06)
Share code: POY ISIN: ZAE000121299
(?Poynting? or ?the Company? or ?the Group?)

TRADING STATEMENT

In terms of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, companies are required to publish a trading
statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that the financial results for the period to be reported
on will differ by more than 20% from the previous corresponding period.

Accordingly, a review of the financial results for the year ending 30 June 2014 by management has
indicated that the earnings per share and the headline earnings per share are expected to be at least 50%
lower compared to the earnings per share and the headline earnings per share of 10.48 cents for the year
ended 30 June 2013. A further trading statement will be published once the Company has a greater degree
of certainty with regards to its financial results for the year ending 30 June 2014.

The Defence division showed strong growth but this was to a large extent offset by losses in the
Commercial, New Projects and CCS divisions as they continued to invest in product development, new
technology and marketing.

Despite the new business of African Union Communications Proprietary Limited (?Aucom?) forming part of
the Group since 1 July 2013, the financial results were consolidated from 1 March 2014 in terms of IFRS 3
and IFRS 10. Aucom?s performance for the 12 months has been better than expected and has exceeded
their 12 month profit guarantee. The costs of the acquisition are however included in the financial results for
the year ending 30 June 2014, which had a material negative impact on profitability. The benefit of the
Aucom acquisition is expected to reflect in the first half of the 2015 financial year.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by
Poynting?s auditors. Poynting?s year-end financial results are expected to be released on SENS on or about
12 September 2014.

Shoe... the after hours released trading statement... Now we understand why the directors have been selling for a while now. And R27 mil sold today by them just before the trading statement? I would buy into share now with the looming correction if I didn't in all honesty expect an investigation into the potential insider trading. Will see where it goes from here. In all honesty this just doesn't look good:

30 Jun 2014 14:10 - Dealings in Securities by an associate of a director of a major subsidiary

30 Jun 2014 17:40 - Trading Statement

Extract out of the statement:

"Accordingly, a review of the financial results for the year ending 30 June 2014 by management has

indicated that the earnings per share and the headline earnings per share are expected to be at least 50%
lower compared to the earnings per share and the headline earnings per share of 10.48 cents for the year
ended 30 June 2013. A further trading statement will be published once the Company has a greater degree

of certainty with regards to its financial results for the year ending 30 June 2014."

17.8% jump since my prediction 3 days ago. However it's starting to near the overbought region. Testing the 397 mark, which will hopefully become a support. But until then, it's looking like resistance.

Huge volume on Friday and today. Stochastics and MACD's turning up. Is this a turn around? Or a quick little rally before another plunge?

A sale went through at 261, any reason for the drop off in price?

I'm thinking buy!

Probably because it was REALLY overvalued for this point in time. Even the directors were cashing out a little. Not a lot I must add - R50 000 here, R100 000 there... all the recent SENS are of directors selling. POY is currently following the same route as AVL - people were just paying too much for the share, too early. A little correction is on the cards
