Listing price of R29/R30 a share with EPS of 157c - isn't that just a little bit rich?
Keen to see if investors will remember 2003. I also think R29 a share is a bit ambitious

The 157c is for 6 months. So doubling it gets you around 300c, which puts it on a PE of 10 given the price of R30. No new shares are on offer so liquidity could be an issue.
Other things that worries me are:
- At the end of 2013, net asset value per share had increased to 1276c, up from 520c in 2009
- It targets customers in the urban middle-income mass market, whose average salary is R7 000 per month
- 90% of sales are sold on credit
Conclusion: looks like it is a great time for current shareholders to get out. This is possible one for a LT portfolio if you believe the Africa expansion angle.

Depends on who they want to give it to. Anchor Capital was given to "friends and family"

How does a potential investor get to take part in these private placements?
Via a broker.

Heads up...
...a tweet from anthony clark today...that guy knows what he's talking about...
"Told that Quantum Foods (the Agri spring off from Pioneer) will list on the JSE in October. I'm watching this closely as it may be a winner."
I wonder if that will go ahead once Zeder owns the majority of Pioneer Foods. Haven't heard anything more on this - hopefully soon.
It does seem from the financials of Pioneer that they've turned Quantum Foods around a bit.

The Rhodes Food Group (RFG), well known for its strawberry jam and tinned sweetcorn, and less well known for its Woolies chicken korma and Portobello cheeses, is planning a JSE listing.

Prospectus only comes out on the 2nd of September.

Hi there
I am looking for the IPO docs for Anchor Capital. On their website anchorcapital.co.za under "about us" they have some blurb about it being premature to apply for shares as the final prospectus has not been approved & a group Arcay is handling it.
I wanted to look at the prospectus but its Saturday & I am sure Arcay who I did email will only respond on Monday. Does anyone have the prospectus or a link to it ?
Not a very up-to-date web page.
Thanks for any help

Anchor Group of which the main part is Anchor Capital
http://www.moneyweb....r-group-to-list
The listing of the Anchor Group on the AltX in early September this year could create an entity with a market capitalisation in excess of R185 million.
With most of it owned by staff or management. Only 37.7% is free-float. Liquidity will be an issue. It seems as well that (judging from the comments) Peter Armitage was part of some hedge fund's demise at Investec back in 2009.
Seems reasonably priced to me... but I will wait for more informed analysis and comments before making up my mind.
