wouldn't it also indicate that a breakout is coming?

not on cci!! makes it very sensitive ti slight change in price if 3mas r close together meaning price has been going sideways recently!!

HDB, I have used a customised VIX on big 15 to aid my systems in generated buy or sell signals, you guys must look into this, Ed Seykota speaks about this on his blog years ago.

To judge breakout timing use RSI and Stockistics but they no good for trends.

if using EMA on ig chart default settings are on the 20/50/100..perhaps i'm misinterpreting

The default ig charts give you only 3 of each type of MA.

If you use prorealtime charts you can just make them all Simple MA's.

<edit>

I remember HDB saying that he is only using the 34 ema because you can only set 3 SMA's by default.

</edit>

"Attitude produces better overall results than analysis or technique, of course the ideal situation is to have both, but you really don't need both, because if you have the right attitude the right mindset then everything else about trading will be relatively easy even simple and certainly a lot more fun." - Mark Douglas, Trading in the Zone.

The 34ema is the key.

If that is far away from price and signal given, then do the trade as price will always go towards 34ema up or down!!

In other words if the 3, 10 and 34 close together, avoid the trade!!

wouldn't it also indicate that a breakout is coming?

This system definately works best with a defined trend(like any system really)

Whipsawing alot today!

Love the input!!

Come guys this is a new system on a test run and would love to hear from more members  as to how to tweak this system to make it show fewer signals with larger profits!!

Don't feel shy...anything that  u see that im not seeing, bring it up and we can discuss it!!

Whipsawing alot today!

That's why I added the new addendum to rules today ! Avoid trading if 204sma has no slope!! But risk return again I suppose because if u take the signal, that trade could cause the slope down or up for you to be in the money big time!!
