Holding some after that little fairy Anthony Clarke punted it as his top pick last year. Also held his Astoria and Ansys punts, all rubbish sadly. Santova made some UK acquisitions at a much higher GBPZAR rate. Then Brexit happened and the pound tanked. So I guess the rand hedge part ain't working right now. Its a good company, but maybe a cheaper entry point warranted. Trading update closely anticipated

I do not own this, or want to own it. Anthony Clarke may be right about it for all I know, but one thing for sure is to always do your own research on his picks, I find them very poor. He has some good insights sometimes, but do not rate him as an analyst at all. Read Nassim Taleb's book called 'Fooled by randomness' too.

Great website! Keep up the good work!

Thanks

Kinda hard when the three guys running it has full time jobs. lol!

We started it out to give friends and family an alternative to go read up on shares and to try and make boring data a bit more interactive. Snowballed from there.

Time to revive this thread.

To be honest we never actively followed SNV, it only recently started to tickle our fancy.

To those who bought it 5 years ago. Im assuming none of you are still on here as you would have made your fotuntes and retired by now.

Crazy performance over the last 5 years.

We still think it has got a bit to go. But only for investors with the neccesary risk appetite. When times are tough we would much rather be holding GrindRod or SuperGroup in the logistics space. But to the punters. Looks like there is still some scope for share price gains.

Down 3.16% on day, here is the clue in SENS:

2015-02-24 - Dealing in securities by "Independent non executive director"

2015-01-26 - Dealing in securities by "by an associate of a director"

2015-01-26 - Dealing in securities by "by an associate of a director"

Some shenanigans behind the scenes and under the table I presume.

I don't touch penny stocks as the risk is too great (anything below ±7.50), Santova presently trading -2.30%

Guys, what is your take on SNV? Appears to be on the decline at present? Good opportunity amidst the profit taking?
