Both MTNSBM (call @ 175) and MTNSBW (Put @ 180) expire  next Tuesday.

So they should issue new ones in the coming weeks.

Tempting...

I know. I'm looking at gambling that it will bounce when the fine is confirmed. I would have thought that the reduced fine would have been a good thing, but it doesn't look like it.

I believe they want payment by end of month, but I'm sure that too can be negotiated

Tempted to play with MTNSBM (at 11c)

beware, if MTN drops into the 120s that particular warrant will be close to worthless. You do however have until june next year to recover, but the later the recovery in MTN, the higher the price has to go before the warrants start appreciating.

They do have an expiry, TOPDWN expires on the 19th of November 2015.

However there is a catch to it, if the underlying reaches the barrier then you would have lost your capital on the trade.

Ah ok, the standard bank data on it is not very accurate then. I'll be looking in on it, seems a much cheaper way to trade the ALSI, especially since there are many of them with different barriers. Thanks Blythz  ;)

Now that's very interesting, need to do more research on how these particular types of warrants work though. Seem to have no expiry on first glance?

If you had bought TOPDWN yesterday your value could have been up 202% today  :D

Unfortunately i haven't been trading warrants in a while but if you time your entries correctly there is huge upside potential with risk limited to your capital on that trade.

Trying my hand at warrants trading, seems to limit the risk but offer good returns if you find one with a good strike price.

Bought SOL call warrants with exercise price of 42500c expiring in Sept. Confident we will see higher than that price between now and Sept so hoping for the best (american style)

If anyone has any advice with regards to warrants trading, would really appreciate it :)

Closed for 30% profit (SOLSBA) :) think I may fool around with these a bit more.

I think the decaying factor is primarily as a result of the decreased expected range of the share price as the time to expiry progresses.

I really like warrants trading as it offers the gearing of CFD's but with limited downside risk(can only lose the premium you put in). Only problem is that there are very few companies that have active warrants trading...

Tried Warrants for a while, but the time decay was the winner most of the time. Gave up cause the warrant issuers makes the monies, not me. But good luck.
