How quickly things change, Ivan made a play for Rio, and now Sam is in a position to make a play for Glencore but he is not interested
Its seems banks are sticking by Ivan "a good cash cow" for them,

Hey SB45
As it stands for me anyway me thinks there's some concerned dialogue going on at some big global banks to clarify just what commodity ie coal/zinc/copper & how much exposure they have to each. Then I reckon there will be some re-balancing (just don't know a decent link to follow for accurate data) that is where I'm gonna search next....On a more macro level bank bosses are going to remember Lehman Bros & how quick that un-ravelled......This trading "Black Box" that gets mentioned is what is intriguing for me as that could be the catalyst for the drop with volume....bit like that 90mil dump day last week......Went long at open as you mention based on SENS but have closed already for weekend booze money & contemplating a short....
Anything I digs up of importance I'll post.
Cheers for your take & more importantly the niggle you gave me that GLN is not just a no brainer buy....
Anyone need a heads up...!

@Soutie,
Do you recall that on the mainstream media made less noise was made about the Goldman report that came out the Friday before the Investec report?
On the 28/09/2015 I told you I was concerned about the trading desk debt exposure, I did not know what that would be until the figure of $100bln came about recently (see CNBC Brian Sullivan vs Paul Gait ).
Your response to me was follow the "real CLEVER money" I consider Goldman Sachs, the "real CLEVER money" (since they can pull a rabbit out of a hat) recall GFC and found that they are not exposed
A chance of them defaulting , well that could be another catastrophe, a downgrading to junk, cost of debt increases and knocks on earnings which is not good for an investor. This knock in my opinion would be much faster than a rise in commodity prices as they work out the glut in the market currently.
This spike, this morning, is due to cut in Zinc and jobs ( which would have indicated a buy for this morning), are finances sorted? Well........as you said the stress tests will be the proof..
This is what I have read , and yes I can write you spy novel about this matter as well and it would start with a Glencore IPO....
What are your predictions on the stress tests?

Morning SB45
What's the deal....dear man/woman.....? I've been reading as much as I can get on GLN mainly because I've been trading these moves. The next saga would be stress tests on banks exposure to GLN commodity trading business with some huge numbers being thrown around.
If you have some other enlightening info please share.....Your posts are short, cryptic & imply you is on the inside track....
Or is you a reader of spy novels.....
Anyone need a heads up...!

@Sole Trader, before you shoot the Analyst at Invest and Goldman, hang on, the show is not over yet.....
Posted 06 October 2015 - 12:37 PM
Sold at R20 and bought back at R15.80.
Still holding - the Investec analysts need to be shot for that irresponsible report

Was tempted to take a nibble last week at R15.00, but thought better of it after the Lonmin freefall
In hindsight, would have been a good gamble
Guys who did take the plunge must be smiling today

Time to start nibbling yet? I bought some at 2150
Did u keep or sell ?
