Could Gold break the floor and head towards the $900 mark by january- if it does could it even go to $800 dollars in the short term?

how likely or unlikely is a $200 decline in the gold price.

There is some extreme short term gold volatility?

what could trigger the sell off?

Gold is going to get a pummelling for the next 3 months- rand dollar will stabilise. dual listed gold shares track the gold price and we should see the impact on jse gold shares as well. if you in for the long haul- may be tear jerking temproary insanity. if you are in for the short term- get out today as the down trend wont abate until shares lose perhaps another 50% of their current value over the next 3 months based solely on gold sentiment. what do you think....

I'm sitting in a pot of slow boiling water. I'm struggling to cut my losses and try to make it up elsewhere. Partly as I don't have any idea where to go from here.

Current short term portfolio

DRD

LON

HAR

All and all I'm down 30%. Selling all of that and taking the pot, where shall I invest?

I have been very cautious with these trades and would only take this up depending on the rates outcome end of this week.

no rate hike may allow gold to increase by 30-50 dollars- but a rate hike may have gold dropping under 1100 this year.

Share prices are also taking a beating and the dual listed are being hammered on both fronts. for short term speculation- best to get out of gold if y dont have ....b...s of steel......if there is no rate hike- plenty of time to get on the ship monday or tuesday

Anyone going to take up the rights?

Sibanye seems to be a fairly decent mine. Can't believe 2 months ago they were trading upwards of R60. How quickly the lady changes her tune.

Actually think this thing could go lower as the rights issue may be low at R20

Market hammering Sibanye - down 14-15% for acquisition - potential rights issue

Should we jump in and go long.

lol no

Not short or long... don't touch them until we get movement in both rand and commodity price

Must go in both directions or always too risky with these miners

But I do believe there is red blood round the corner

Chances are the gold price will go up tomorrow but the share will fall

Gold miners are strictly for trading and not investing. You WILL get burned if you are investing.

hello Orca,  was browsing through another forum and came across your post regarding your wife's illness.  sad hearing this,  here's wishing both of you good health.  stay strong friend.

I think the gold shares could decline another 5% tomorrow before stabilising

Lol... Maybe they drop 5 more % specially for you to get long!!

US gold stocks shaping up a very bullish candle tonight having reversed on almost double average volume... Is the bottom in? Still far from close tonight so let's see what happens... Close is very most important
