Does anyone understand how the DBX foreign ETFs (US, UK, EUR, JPN) and ETNs (China, Africa, Emerging)  work ? Main things I don't understand:

* What's the practical difference between an ETF and an ETN.

* How does the foreign exchange work? When the rand weakens against these countries primary currency would the ETF/N go up?

* How would it be different to buying the foreign stocks directly?

Actually while we are on the subject, what is the best way to invest in an international ETF such as one of the Vanguard Index funds?
