Some interesting rumours about a possible merger with another listed forestry share (Sappi???) starting to float around. Interim results are going to be poor, thanks to the clowns governing us willingly giving us junk status and a recession.

Headline earnings for the 6 months were down 9%.

But if you read through it carefully, there's a growth story happening.

Most of the drop is due to depreciation and re-investment.

They're opening more stores, increasing distribution, product variety and buying more forests.

On a forward PE of 5, lots of value.

you are going to make me buy this for the shits and giggles. Stahp.

:P

It was R40 then, and they've re-invested into certain niche areas.

Directors been buying heavily over the past 2 years.

The greatest asset you have is time. You just wasted 7.

What future prospects does this company offer over other options on the JSE?

On a PE of 5 and growing nicely.

Expecting good numbers out next week.

I always wonder about investing in these companies. Surely forestry (the cutting down part) is not sustainable, so what future does this company have? It certainty was not a good stock if you bought in the past 8 years, why would that change now?
