Snippit,

Any charts showing a possible uptrend over near term for gold. Gold came down to expected levels over last week or two.

I am expecting that it might make a run at the 1,700 level again in near term due to other assets classes getting hammered.

Nut on the other hand people might have to sell gold positions to free up cash in the near term.

Any opinions out there?

Update 10th March
Wave 2 performs the triple zigzag. That's entertainment. Now waiting for the stimulus.

Snippit,

You still feel the target of +/- 1,625 to 1,640 is holding on the 4 hour chart?

Funny you should ask about that..

XAU/USD - Spot Gold updated

This 15 minute view sees Minor wave 2 of Intermediate wave (5) in progress with a target of [iv]. Minor wave (1) is seen to have extended with a now typical 5-3-5 pattern within the 3rd wave, which is Minute wave [iii] in this case.

Last week saw people buying the $ as a safe haven rather than gold my opinion is that gold's run had pushed it too high for people to be comfortable hence they went into the $...Needs to consolidate around this range before the next panic buy pushes it higher.

XAU/USD - Spot Gold
This analysis sees the completion of Primary wave [3] at the exact 1.618 of Primary [1].  The detractor has been the guidance of inadequate alternation between Intermediate waves (2) and (4). Such occurrence is rare but can happen. Accordingly Primary wave [4] is in progress and most probably has completed the first leg of an impending 1.62 extension. But further downside is quite possible. This suggests that market interventions via rate cuts with further gold sales is imminent.

JSE, Gold Mining Index, J150

Update 28th Feb:
Intermediate wave (3) arrived a few hours after the previous update. The sharp progress has delivered -11% so far today and we now have a sufficient retrace for an Intermediate wave (4). A closer look at the abc form finds affirmation of that sentiment. However, the insane sell off must decide for itself just how much blood is enough. Once (4) concludes then a V-shaped bounce up to the Primary [3] is seen due. This correction should be good practice for Primary [4].

Milo,

Good call on DRD short.

I am taking some pain on AngloGold Long at R325. Hopefully the fed cuts rate sooner than later with gold and gold miners recovering some.

Hi All

Which gold stock, if any, should I consider to ride out this crash. Which one has the best potential for upside?

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone.

I am considering going back into AngloGold from R325 level with exit price target of R345 to R355.

With all indexes falling and Dow set do open down negative 300 points why has Gold not gone up to closer to 1,700 level or even higher?

What am I missing except maybe some profit taking?

Maybe it is hitting resistance. I just shorted DRD Gold to make a quick buck hopefully

JSE, Gold Mining Index, J150

Update 21st Feb:
Primary wave [1] was deeply retraced by [2] which promised a bigger wave [3]. Of paramount consideration is that Primary [4] may not enter [1] and will need adequate space above [1] even though it will probably have to be a small ratio of [2].
But then wave [3] was premature with its Intermediate waves which were perfect except for leaving all the work of producing a [3] something larger than [1] to the Intermediate (5). But when the perfection is disregarded it becomes evident that wave (4) is a reset corrective (4)' to allow for an extension by replication of the entire first half of (3).  The projection for (3) using the 2.62 Fib ratio of (1) is also supported by having a half way point between (3)' and (4)'. At present there is opportunity for more volatility for the foreseeable future starting with the completion of the ending diagonal Intermediate wave from (4)' to (3).

This projection approximates the typical probable price actions. Time frames can surprise and volatility is a given.

Gold price is in extremely bullish trend and there is not any resistance nearby. Expect an even sharper rise in price! 1650 should be broken soon.

According to me ANG is still way off its preliminary high level projection of R456-00

Currently the  VIX up almost 10% and the Dow futures pointing to a drop of 229 points. If it stay this way I think a good chance for Gold to go above R1,640.

Any opinions out there?
