At last an announcement of intent by Stadio that excited some investors and boosted the share price. The price has since retreated probably as we have to wait a good few years for the plans to come to fruition and before any revenue is generated from that venture

Is it my imagination or has the euphoria around private education in SA disappeared? Definitely not as much press coverage to lift investor sentiment as there was a while back or can I stick my neck out and say that the market is reaching saturation with those able to afford it already in, and the economy etc. preventing those on the fringe from entering?

I have moved from positive to neutral on this sector. We need to understand the effect that free tertiary education to certain income groups will have on this sector as well as the factor raised in my attached news piece.

The share prices of both Curro and Stadio have not had a good year so far and I think some of this could be due to investor sentiment playing alongside the general market state. A long term view is probably what investors will be looking for with these shares, waiting for the J-Curve to kick-in to bring down the high PE and give the share price some impetus to rise.
Thank you Saints, for your thoughts and the link

Which is best medium to long term play in this sector?
How will free tertiary education affect these companies, and who would be most affected?
Alternatively, is this a sector to steer clear of?
Any thoughts??
