“One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don't know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn't matter.” - Lewis Carroll

Thanks for the head's up Midas

Yeah there's always some people with their opinion that'll differ from yours/mine but that's what makes a market...

Alternate though due to Reg28 local fund managers have to put funds received somewhere so sooner or later SHP will revert back to it's mean average.

As stated rotating into seasoned solid stocks due to age I'm not bottom picking & at sub R120 me thinks there's a margin of safety hereabouts.

If someone started a rumour that Tesco or Carefore was looking at SHP for a takeover price would rocket....Maybe price being pushed lower deliberately to unwind the Weise voting shares...? All very possible along with your guy with a short recommendation.

Have a good day.

Hi Soutie, look at guy herenya capital stock picks on his website last week, he has chart there...he said short shp..just worth looking different people's opinions, hope it works for you long..just bit concerned as his tp for short was quite low...but hey he gets it wrong too sometimes, good luck...ps I think shp good longterm, but concerned if further downward bumps

Yip, a lot has happened and I don't expect anything in the first half of 2020 (at least). There is lots of upside if they can start to get the right things in place though.

Careful with ACG - there is a potential R500m claim against them for soliciting clients in contravention of the POPI Act,,,

I personally think the JSE will remain flat in 2020.
My biggest focus is on Nasadaq and S&P 500.

But for JSE I see the following companies performing well:

4Sight Holdings
Steinhoff International Holdings
Anheuser
Shoprite
Aveng
Woolworths
Ascendis Health

What are your top tips for 2020? Post them here and lets see how it does for the year.

My picks:

- Ellies

- Capitec

- DisChem

Risky:

- Steinhoff

- 4Sight

I would have said Sasol, but it is on a run already.
