On a UK board there is a comment from RBC about Middelburg being identified as having a 'brownfield' site for the 1st smelter/refinery to be built. They visited Mintek on the 2nd Feb. Expecting news to be early Q2, the way this is picking up must be good news.
Regards.

Number One Furnace Shut Down
30 March, 2010

Lonmin Plc, ("Lonmin") announces that its Number One furnace has been shut down following a matte run-out earlier today. No one was hurt as a result of this incident.

Our initial estimate is that a full repair of the vessel is likely to take around 30-40 days. In order to mitigate the impact on production two Pyromet furnaces have already been started up, with a third one starting in early April. These furnaces have around 40% of the capacity of the Number One furnace.

A full inspection of the Number One furnace is being conducted during which time we will investigate the cause of this incident.

This incident will have no impact on Lonmin's half year results which close on 31 March 2010. Changes, if any, to the full year sales guidance will be given once the repair programme has been confirmed.

Well now, good news out on SENS with Conroast going strong. But why the drop in share price? Time to add more I think. Happy to have picked up some at R3-60 a while back.

Yes, good news that they're starting up Conroast but why in Middelburg? Their mines will be near Burgersfort so much closer to Lydenburg or Polokwane than Middelburg.

Personally I don't see their SA venture as very interesting right now. I think it's got a long time, and a lot of money, to go before shareholders will see any returns and these are already priced into the share price. Much more interesting are their Madagascar exploits. If those turns up real pay dirt - and preliminary drilling suggests they might - the share price could sky-rocket.

Middelburg coal are probably used in the 'roasting' stage

SENS states facility is in good state and already furnaces in operation. Maybe could not find any other facility in this ready state; time is money now. Today very enlightning interview with CEO on TV 3 during lunch hour. I want to add more to my holdings.

Chart of JBL
index.php/fa/3450/0/
index.php/fa/3451/0/
Both charts are the same with bottom a zoom inn.
From the top chart one can see she is moving sideways from its June 2009 peaks. She is trading in a wedge and if she breaks the bottom band of that wedge then it will become a dangerous channel. The chances of her breaking on the upside of the wedge are slim because of the present correction. One needs to take cue of her movements from the plat chart which i will post next.

Chart of Plat
index.php/fa/3452/0/
She is playing in dangerous water. Her breach of its 50dma put her in a confirmed correction. She is finding support at its 200dma.Any breach here and it will become a major correction. One needs to keep track of the daily plat price because once its 200dma gives way then JBL will drown.
