We have been quiet on JBL for a looong time.
It really makes me quite (.....) to see it jump like this.
Even way outperforming WEZ!
Wonder what the news could be? Surely not (only) the platinum price?!
Why I am hurting is that I started buying above R10, still HOLDing, but I never bothered to average down at the R1 levels.
Thought it was still too early.
And now I am not sure that it is still timely to buy....
But then again I hardly remember these sort of volumes.
What you say TimmyT. I remember us still talking about accumulating close to R10 on the way down.... lol

Don't know at all.
Out of WEZ since R12 odd levels.
Don't see much being mentioned about WEZ (anymore) either.
Got the impression that all the former WEZ followers had lost patience with and trust in the management of that company.
Also management have already committed significant funds in the WEZ project and were then hit by the big "mess".
JBL, on the other hand, remains basically pie in the sky. No heavy commitments in the projects yet. Not much running costs on a monthly basis sort of.
And location still good.....
We need some inside/insight perhaps.
Is the latest move based on any "news" (to borrow the old WEZ thinking), or is it just a temporary move with retracement around the corner.
I do not know at all (wish I did, though).
Good luck.

This comes after a report indicated that the project could possibly contain an attributable 44 million ounces of platinum-group elements and gold.

Jubilee Platinum Plc (JLP.L) said it would proceed to a feasibility study of the Tjate project in South Africa after a report indicated that the project could possibly contain an attributable 44 million ounces of platinum-group elements (PGE) and gold.
"The company calculates an attributable value at prevailing market prices of $30 billion to the aforementioned possible metal, for which the viability of its recovery has yet to be established in future studies as the project develops," Jubilee said on Thursday.
The mining exploration and development company said the results from the mineral resource statement gives it the confidence to proceed to feasibility study and if appropriate development.

Feasibility study should be complete in 6 months or so, then a final Board decision, (which at current prices will be a definite go ahead) then the mine can be developed. This takes about 2 years or so depending on the depth of the mine (Tjate mine is about 1200m or so), then a steady ramp up to full production.
At current prices the mine has a NPV of $4 billion (60% owned by Jubilee) = close to R20 billion. Jubilee's current market cap = R800 million.
All things being equal R7.50 now should be over R200 in 4-5 years time. Can you wait that long????
