How did your EURUSD trading go today? Tank, Contango who trades Euro around here. What happend to rahshid. I made 9 trades no losses all on the long side for 13, 14,13, 27, 12.... and about two scalps to cover trades that the draw-downs were to large.

The Greece mess resurfaced again and it is interesting to see how one can actually trade into death plunges and make pips.

Trader100,

Here is a M15 chart of the EURUSD pair for 2010/03/18. According to the basics of trading there were NO long trades permitted yesterday, as all three the SMA's (200,20,40) were going down, there were LH's and LL's, and most of the price action were under the 20 SMA. Go to Arshad's thread and read ALL he tries to learn his co - traders there and then you would see how dangerous your trading yesterday were.

If a price of a share does not go up or down I'm positive it will stay flat.

One person's basics of trading might not be another person's idea of trading. What matters is actual trading statements.

Arshad has some interesting ideas and I only briefly looked at his theory not enough to venture a comment. Is there perhaps some trading stats available? His thread is a long read and those of you who followed his posts can refer me to his http://www.mt4i.com statement. I wish him best of luck in his trading and teaching initiatives.

I executed 17 closed trades the last three days into the Greece crises with one loss. Presently have 1 winning position open.
Full historical trading statement here: http://www.mt4i.com/users/stephanusr.

Trader100,

You must be trading with a very tight stop, because if not your whole trading profit could be wiped out with one bad trade, and I see you are mostly scalping, holding a position for a very short period.

True indeed, the stops are very tight. What is important as posted elsewhere is the risk:reward ratio per trade. If you scalp at 5pips, your draw-down had better be around 5pips. Scalping is a fine way of getting into a trade for a larger profit run. For example my trade on at the moment, took two contracts, scalped on at 5pips, placed the stop for the second one just below the entry of both contracts which were taken out at the same time.

The second contract running presently at 17 pip gain. But now I have moved my stops on this one to 1pip above entry, hoping for a 50 pip rally but if the trade goes against me will be stopped out for an effective 6pip gain.

See https://www.zulutrade.com/TradeHistoryIndividual.aspx?pid=10 263 for the actual entry now open live. There could be a one hour delay though for trading stats to come through.

To evaluate a scalper look at his winning pips/draw-down ratio. On Zulutrade.com these ratios are listed. A scalper making 5pips on a 40pip draw-down could have all his previous eight 5pip winning trades wiped out. There should be a few 23, 17 pip winners among the scalp trades.

Thus I am not a pure scalper but strategically use scalping to enter rallies, that if the rally is faded I get stopped out with a small gain. That at least is the trading strategy, we will see how it goes in the weeks ahead.

Just made another two trades. ONe for a small loss of 1.2pips the other a gain of nearly 9pips. The previous trade I closed out for 9pips. See chart. That brings me to 19win/2loss over three days.

The euro tanked 45pips but it can't just fall for ever, it is knowing when to buy in the dips for the rebound as a rubber ball rebounds. index.php/fa/2790/0/

Closed out the trade at 9 pips, drawdown 5pips. See chart look for the first entry at the top. After closing trade fiber dropped even further. Will have to see what happens next week 25/26 March, but it seems as though IMF will have to give a bailout.

I think further real-time posts on Euro trades should rather be at my other thread http://www.trade2win.com/boards/day-trading-scalping/88632-r eal-time-euro-oil-trades.html.

Sharenet is a single board, Trade2win has multiple boards with subsections dedicated to specific styles of trading, fundamentals and general news.

It would be more appropriate to continue the discussion there.
