Hi Guys,

I have been sitting mostly on cash since the MTX share payout. I'm planning to invest the funds long term (5 to 10 years). I would like some input on my planned portfolio.

UUU - Good entry point. Low cost producer. Bullish outlook for Uranium. "Rand hedge"
MTN - Good dividend. Turkcell lawsuit unlikely to be successful. The pulback caused by the lawsuit should be a good entry point. Good DY.
CML - Good dividend. Strong company. Is now a good time to buy, or has this share run to hard?
KIO - Good long term prospects. Low cost producer. Good DY. Entry point?

Any other share with good long term prospects?

Also, I currently have 2 shares in my portfolio that I am considering getting rid of:
RBP - Brought it with the hope that Impala will make another offer for Rasimone mine. However, with the current performance of platinum producers not sure if it is worth holding onto. Should it be worthwhile holding on? 10% of my portfolio
WEZ - Small portion of my portfolio. Down 40%. Worth holding on? Or should I just cut my losses. Little less than 10% of my portfolio.

1. UUU id buy
2. MTN also buy at current
3. CML is fully priced, i wont go there
4. KIo has run very hard but is a single reource producer, Id rather look at a diversified producer such as AGL or BIL. Exx will be a better punt if you like iron ore!!

I would also say BIL (as did hdbb) for a long term, price is lowish currently. I also think that CIPLA has some potential in the long term.

Hi,

Yeah I agree, I bought Cipla yesterday (and MTN). Cipla looks like it has some really good potential for the long term, and MTN is good value at its current level.

Billiton also looks cheap and thinking of adding that as well

Two of the least volatile and steady stocks on the JSE:
CML. SENS out this Tuesday. Funds under management has grown to R296B. A large gain over the past 3 months. PE should drop soon from 15 odd.

AVI. A good defensive stock found in many Managed Portfolios.

These are the only 2 stocks I have in my long term portfolio.

For longer term, I wouid buy it at any price today. Looking flat so far. Take the div and reinvest asap on Monday as it should trade back up quite quickly.

Not this Monday but the Monday after the div is paid out. It is so small that It does not concern me.

Fair enough gcr. U mentiond satrix40 aswel, most of my portfolio is invested there and I have monthly debit orders going into it aswel. Some people are using it as a retirement fund, from ur view do u think its going to bring in rewards long term?

Investor 1 - personally (and I am retired) I would rather invest in Satrix 40 and Divi instead of an RA - my experience with RA's is not one of delight as the insurance companies are more interested in skimming off their fees than creating wealth for the investor.
Also the Satrix's mirror the indices that they track so they will move up and down with the market. As an example the Top 40 hit its highest point of 31393 on 22/5/2008 and currently it is standing at 30145 so even since the massive drop that it experienced since 2008 it has almost recovered to that point again
The important think is patience - and enjoy the dividends along the way Razz

Coronation UT's most certainly aint CML. CML is listed on the JSE and outperforms all their UT's by a Large margin. You comparing peanuts to mellons here.
