It is probably the auction price - from 16:50 till 17:00 the JSE is in auction mode. Do a search on 'JSE Auction' there is a document available describing the procedure.

Thanks - find it strange though that the volume traded was more than the last 3 days put together over 9mill compared to an average of about 2mill per day. Dropped the price significantly as well.....

I see SAP is back up to the 2100 level as it was a month ago - what is the chance of it breaking through the level this time or will it revert back to its 1800-1900 level?

Anybody got any good feelings about Sappi?
Their quarterly results are published next week and their share is still sitting in the 1850 to 1950 range.

The prospects for the group do not look very bright with margin and volume pressure practically on all continents, although Europe margins are still not to bad. Deutsche Bank has given the share a valuation of 2500cps

Commodities are picking up and SAP shows a up-trend. I sometimes buy a share like this just for that reason and hope that the other buyers suffered through the financials. I do hear rumours that some directors are willing to miss a pay cheque (R 750 000 for two directors per month) so the next result might not be good at SAPPI.

SAPPI refinancing at a high debt:equity of 144. I see MONDY is mothballing and retrenching at a debt:equity of 41.

Moody's rating:Overall, Sappi's debt is rated Ba3 - in a word, trash.

If an Aaa rating is like lending money to your accountant father, then Ba3 is like lending money to your deadbeat, unemployed younger brother. Poor Sappi.
