Good call there, Scalp. I followed you a short while later at 47037and also closed out at 46849. Must say I sweated for a while during ALSI's indecision between 47100 and 47000. But ended up on the right side. Thanks for the call.
Looks like this downward drift is not over yet!!

all this congestion at pivot. this is retail price plus some. for me to late to short. trade wholesale. although Alsi does look very weak.

Scalp, thanks for the reply. You have been around the block a few times to appreciate the risks involved.
If you have a system that works for you, great. A lot of traders never get there, it took me a long enough time to get one generating sustainable income, and it remains a learning process forever.
I will never agree with your RR profile put on trades, but all the best to you.
pdp, scalp clearly stated the number of contracts traded. Whether it is R4/pip or R10/pip is immaterial to the end goal. If you for one second want to suggest I was fishing for cheap information regarding his trading account size or profit margin, please, do not insult my integrity or intelligence.
As far as posting on a regular basis, that remains a very personal affair. You can attract a cult following or criticism from lurkers (mmm) way too often. To put that into perspective, I never criticized his trading approach, just a very (at least for me) fundamental part of a trading plan.
The Alsi is a wild beast that gets influenced heavily by the Rand, as well as tech heavies like NPN and SAB. Add the RESI's and you have many weights and counter weights that can for no reason neutralize one another or cause squeeze after squeeze.
So we have 48 000 futures. Do we test the recent swing high and then fall back? The number of short positions suggest that we might. If we break the 48 400 SH, is it just open road to retest 49 500ish, or do we correct in a proper 5 wave structure or an ABC? Nobody knows.
Fact is, the ATR for the alsi is currently just below 800 pips. Back in Feb it was above 1000 pips. Even with relative low volatility you try and catch only 25% of ATR. Scalp trading is a very important part of your trading arsenal, but can become a very wild ride when you have a small window of opportunity working for you.
I promise to come out of the wood work (lurkers corner) and will contribute more often, when I feel I have something of value to add.
Remember stop losses!
