I'm taking profit here...will wait a bit before going short..think going to be an interesting volatile week, that major bullish uptrend channel line is around 45190ish...thinks she might hit there around Thursday, but break she is going to break it this month IMO...then bulls going to run for the hills!

Yeah, also got out of that long I took at the gap close last week without too much damage. She does look very weak, certainly the weakest this year.

 

She looks ready to go and test the recent lows at 45100 sometime soon. That said, I'm very weary of shorts, got burned seriously in my previous life with those buggers...

I'm taking a few longs here into Tuesday morning or target 46170ish...!

 

She went through the lower daily bollingerband and came back and it being friday with short covering too it is just too much of a temptation, but after Tuesday should resume this mud slide!

 

Garth Mckenzie said we could reach 45000 around futures close-out, have a significant amount of put options expiring at that level!

S&P caught some support late yesterday. With our gap close now complete, do you think W3 has kicked off in earnest, or do we do one more retest of the lows? Still lots of optionality at 45000 (f)..

Would not like a c-leg below 45070 (assumed end of previous 4th) so favour 61.8% there buy 45333 no less.

Kicking cobble things here. Re-entry of the gap not good for bears..

Any chicken run will get plucked.

Who knows? General rule of thumb: if momemtum before divi is up, generally she recovers quickly...

Looks like you were right, there wasn't really any momentum therefore it did not shoot back up, but it looks like it is climbing the stairs now.

In 20 minute the dividend of 100+ points are paid on longs and taken from shorts. What are the chances of it shooting right back up after the drop.


Who knows? General rule of thumb: if momemtum before divi is up, generally she recovers quickly...

On the S&P500 and their holiday: For the very short term the trading day before a holiday weekend tends to lean bullish, and the first trading day of September on Tuesday has been up 12 of the last 18. Thus on probability it's cautiously looking for new SPX all time highs both today and on Tuesday.

But wildcard is geopolitical risk w Ukraine vs Russia - a bit of an unfair match w Uncle Sam to far and too busy elsewhere and too afraid to help potential little brother Ukraine
