hi AJS, Would you mind sharing your reasoning on keeping onto your SGL?, say compared to GFI or ANG?
Gold seem relatively out of favor, has faster rising costs, dollor strength makes it 'over priced' , low interest rates and -inflation reduces its investment demand..
- on NYSE the GDX Is a third of its 2011 value! But seems to form a cup and handle graph and if that is part of bigger IH&S pattern then good for longs in gold miners
Hi O
I have not taken a fundamental view on gold to justify this trade. It is a opportunistic, short-term and technical trade for me. The share price was hit > 22% in 3 days and there are some good lateral support around R23 and R21. Playing a mean reversion game here.
Sorry - but there is not more to this trade for me

I am closing all shorts! Too mush indecision in the market at the moment. Sitting on my hand until close this afternoon. Frustrating.

and if one forecast a ZAR weakening you still think these are prime Short candidates?
ZAR weakening would come from a strong NFP print later this afternoon and strong dollar - commodities should start next leg down in that scenario. Trade with caution ahead of the announcement!
