I'm long FSR & SLM waiting for the budget speech, his positive chatter will boost financials in the short term, plus SBK's trading statement out earlier is also a positive. These moves will be short lived as actions speak louder than words & we all know Gordhan's hands are tied. Then will be looking for short entry till possible downgrade time.

 

Kumba & Exxaro WTF...? keep looking for short but not arriving who is buying up resources to this extent....?

 

Where is everyone's thoughts...watching what & why...?

Closed longs on FSR &  SLM for w/end beer money.

 

Ref: KIO did some scouting could be a short squeeze on Iron ore spot contributing to recent gains in price....my theory anyway...

KIO and EXX are thinly traded compared to the other major resource companies. Assuming resource prices start to recover from the second half of 2016 I suppose you'll have to start accumulating if you want material benefit from these thinly traded counters.

 

KIO: There was a big drop March 2015 from R230 then prices stabilized around R170 before the slide resumed in June 2015. If the ore price start to show signs of recovery I'm sure we'll be staring at R170 again...

Arm? What rumour? Or resource rumour?

ARM...African Rainbow Minerals....What rumour..... exactly...! So why is it so strong ATM....can't just be their holding in Harmony......South 32 restructuring their own manganese operations.....So.....why most resources deep red yesterday except ARM....?   I don't know,,,

 

Technically a close above R73.60 & a retest would be bullish but against this backdrop I is puzzled.....Got a buy order ready should that occur also ready to sell should it be rejected with volume.

Unusual, for gold to go up with general market!! Really weird moves happening atm. Gold looking very strong and overbought, charts looking very toppish daily and weekly oscillators both above 75!!! Wonder which one is right??😜

Got burned with my Kumba short but looking at today's early spike I'm relieved.

Hazzard a guess everyone is still short & trying to average down on most resource counters so the big boys with the deeeeeep pockets will again screw the retail muppets (myself included) again. My only consolation is I did buy some ARM & Kumba for long term just not enough.....but then again it's never enough is it....

Phew...! That's a toughy me thinks they is all battered & deep fried by the looks of things after the weak Chinese data....Hang tight for couple weeks till it's old news then there'll be a few.

 

Anglo's is waaaaaaaaay overdone so me has a bid in @ R64 doubt I'll get it but that's my thinking as of the next week or so.....

What is going on with Steinhoff. Tax evasion just before its Frankfurt listing. Germans wanting to pick this up as cheap as possible. I just don't trust anything anymore.

I Like the WHL and DSY resistance levels 

 

Tx Loading, only managed to open LHC at 3500, will possibly get WHL today. DSY approaching fast....
