Things are getting worse. People stand up against their government. This is what reached me from a friend of a friend:

christine Barth GERMANY FOR MY FRIENDS: ==> IN ISTANBUL IS THE HELL OFF! HERE WE HAVE NO MOBILE INTERNET MORE HOTELS AND APARTMENTS AVAILABLE TO MAKE YOUR WIRELESS. HERE ARE AT LEAST 10,000 PEOPLE TO 3:00 AT NIGHT! STREET BATTLES AND RESIGNATION SLOGANS! ALL FULL OF GAS, THE GAS OF INJURED PROTESTER IS DIRECTLY FROM THE REAR BE REPLACED, THE FRONT SO THAT CAN NOT BE BROKEN. Military bases DISTRIBUTE THE PEOPLE'S GAS MASK, COPS THREATEN THE SOLDIERS WITH GAS FIRING! From helicopters IS GAS FIRED ON U.S., stronger GAS OTHER THAN THAT WHICH USE THE GROUND TROOPS! ABOUT ALL COACHES ARE FROM TURKEY WITH SUPPORTERS IN approaching. ANKARA IN IZMIR AND OTHER CITIES ARE THE PEOPLE ON THE STREETS! HOPE THIS TIME WILL BE THE END OF THE ACP GOVERNMENT ... TOMORROW WILL BE IN ALL CITIES PLANNED DEMOS, HAVE ALSO HEARD IN LONDON ... THE TURKISH CHANNELS SHOW NOTHING / NADA / ZERO! ! ! SHARING MY STATUS, ALL SHOULD KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. INTERNET IS COMING AND GOING THINK TIME SOON THE CAPS ALL THE LINES!

THE MILITARY SUPPORT THE PROTESTERS against THE POLICE! WHAT IS HERE GO? THAT IS THE POLICE IS IN TURKEY AS Paramilitary ORGANIZATION ... AMAZING ..

I guess they are right to stand up. But that does not bode well with economics.

I also live here and the last thing I want is for the ship Im sailing in to be fatally damaged and sink with me and my family on board.

I think the damage is repairable but how much damage has still to be done before the repairs can begin.

Hopefully the electorate will wise up before its too late but .........

Another interesting read

While SA does have some serious problems they will be sorted out, me hopes cos I likes to live here.

The more pertinent question that I have is twofold.

Has the structural economic damage that has been done irreversible...?

Also will the clown in charge still be in charge come next year..!post elections.

I have to admit that I am pretty concerned.

I am not usually pessimistic but what I see and read these days gives me sleepless nights.

This is very scary! And I think very true. It seems to be a very likely scenario, which may already be underway.

The only way for Gilmarkus to stop the ZAR's plunge could be to raise interest rates
