might be too soon but decided to close baw long at 7923. 

Do you think BAW is going to stay in this uptrend now, or will it still complete it's down cycle, if not already completed?

Baw is long overdue for a decent bounce. HDB is correct in saying it is risky to short now. a long have better probability currently in short term. 

Thank you. Out it is then... think I should leave the technical stuff rather to you guys and concentrate in determining whether a stock is good or bad (ala Rule 1).

Thanks for the advice. Seasonal trend is up only in Sep/Oct and I'm looking at the dailies and 20MA still has a long way to go, before crossing up through the 100MA. But yeah, I don't really know about all this stuff and listening to you guys mostly and think Investor with me on this one?

I will change that target of mine though; got it by looking at % drop in previous seasons, but would rather listen to you!

Thanks. Took profit, but looking to climb in again. At the moment I'm bargain hunting (too early??) and lost my short focus a bit; only "hedging" my long term CFD position by shorting the ALSI40.

obey your stop loss. i have a small short position on this. i think we going to see a bounce this week and then a further retraction. i would say its still too soon for the low to be priced in, but who knows.. 

 

im going to see what happens tomorrow since its currently hovering around 200sma. 

baw short is still in play.

Investor, do you reckon the pattern is still holding; or has BAW reached it bottom (+-8000) and started it's incline a bit earlier this year? I'm still short and a bit unsure, especially if there's good news on Wednesday...

i mentioned this on another thread that baw is a seasonal stock. if you analyse the movements you will notice how it starts moving down in may until october-ish and then in october it starts its incline. it has repeated that pattern for past 3 years if i remember correctly.

I'll never understand trading. Telkom profits down 73% and traders drive the price up 4% ??? This is on the assumption that a recovery is now due.

yes, i was.  walked out at default loss and made it back on shorting the hell out of them

smart move. its been a good shorting stock. ive avoided investing in those resource stocks in heavy downward trends.
