Gonna hold on. I still believe it will go back up again.

Its been disheartening seeing it drop like this, especially after waiting it out for the rights issue and doing some careful juggling in buying and selling to bring my average price down.

Please view this post as a stark check list.

I asked myself all these questions while deciding to participate in their fund raising exercise.

Where are the new clients to come from....?

Who is going to re-finance their BEE structure....?

How many more bad loans are still to present themselves.....?

What are they going to do to turn this around...?

Plus management.....?...Did they not see this coming or just underestimated the scale either way poor show.

Post rights price was supposed to be R13.05....says who...?

Last but not least...Interest Rates can only go up.....!......More impairments....!

I'm glad I didn't now.

ABIL moving into new territory now me thinks.

Way more sellers of rights than new buyers.

The slow unraveling of a Ponzi scheme in action.

Even the proposed wiping of credit records aint' gonna help.

I have been given a lot of advice from some kingshoe finance heads...bottom line is that directors are selling shares to take up rights and I feel this is the way to go.
At the current price you will only need to sell about half your holding to take up your allotment.

That's a question I wanted to ask. I trade on the FNB Share Investor platform.
FNB have added the rights to my portfolio - I can either take them up or sell them on open market. I have chosen to use the rights and FNB will purchase the shares at R8.00 at the beginning of December.
My question is- can I now sell some of my existing ABL shares and still take up the full portion of R8.00 shares that has already been allocated to me?
For example, if I had 2000 shares, the allocation of rights shares would be 1680 shares. By taking up the rights, I would end up with 3680 shares.
BUT- if I sold 1000 shares, took the 1680, would end up with 2680 shares at a lower averaged price per share.
So do I need to keep the 2000 in order to get the additional 1680 at R8.00, or now that I have the 1680 allocated, is it immaterial and I can still sell my normal shares with out effecting my rights allocation?
Hope this makes sense :-)

Price going up again
This share really is a volatile one! Been an interesting few months.
How many if you are using your rights and purchasing more? And how many are selling your rights?

I'm taking the rights.

I use Nedbank and was advised to take the rights.

Seems fair price at these levels. An updated valuation - http://www.relativev....co.za/abl.html

Thanks for posting brendonfiddles.
This definately looks like the fair price for ABL
I gotta make a decision soon whether I'm going to use or sell my rights. Have to work out which is going to be the better prospect going forward
