just a matter of speech...pound strengthens I have as  pound /rand and not rand/pound...on it now thanx

understand this:

 

Pound strengthens;;;;;; from R18.00 to R17.00   alsi goes down

Pound weakens  ;;;;;; from R18.00 to R19.00   alsi goes up!!

Im a bit "deurmekaar" here...I thought the alsi will go up if pound gets stronger and rand weakens

understand this:

 

Pound strengthens;;;;;; from R18.00 to R17.00   alsi goes down

So, do I understand this;

 

If the FTSE futures goes up by 1 point, the ALSI will go up by 6.5p

If the rand weakens against the pound by 1c, the Alsi will go up by 12p

(If rand is at R17.96 and it goes to R17.97, the Alsi will go up by 12p)
