watch acc size 200K...margin per con 32000....

1.long 2 contracts 40000.....market falls 300 points down 6000...acc now 194k...margin held 66000...available marge...129 odd k

2. by another 2 contracts....marge now 128000....margin call....now market loses  another 300 points ....now losses 12k plus original 6k...and u gotta margin call...

 

3. market falls another 800 points.....well   .....clank....

 

4. buy another 2...cant do

 

5. what happens when markets goes down 2000 points in the above scenario?

 

how does one now buy or sell (reverse the above scenario for shorts)?

 

the system is flawed..for 90% of traders they cannot  do it....but worse they SHOULD not do it....

the fact that it illustrates no alpha skills it is really an intuitively flawed system.

And whatever happened to trade with trend...the very same traders  that say BTDFI say trade with trend....trend down...short it.

Yar fair enough....But I dont do anything clever....skills get you in a trade....trust it...hit it hard.....then mathematics ((simple maths...I am dof at maths) keeps one in the moola.....when u hit it hard...hold your breath or your crotch it is right....then breath out when you are and cover 200...300....600 points.....cover over 50% of pozzi...doing this implies that even if market goes against you it has to move > than 2x the points from your entry level....for you to lose money....much more than enough points to bank the rest and swing and benefit the new trend...

 

mate I have been next door...those guys close eyes buy or sell and hope for the best.....wide stops implies lack of belief in trend or skills of charting resistance levels..and or channels etc...this is my experience...ii have seen them ride all the way down losing bundles...them making some back on the hop...vice versa....ride shorts all the way up then make some back on the market crack

 

----intuitively explain wide stops to me??...it can only mean one thing...no alpha trading skills.

 

---why not cover on entry if market is going against one's pozzi...then watch pivot break...trade that direction...how can what I say be wrong?..it cannot

--------now China above 3000 is the one to watch for bearishnessnessnesss.....I have covered shorts 500....gone long 517...target the gap.....metals do say down...but I still trust the SMI...."they know"...wink wink....short below 47487 for yesterdays LOD test....add on break of course.


----Mr ABT although your stops are set at entry....I disagree with this strategem....it means one doesna make moola....hit something big...but then take 200...300...400 points ..bank em...keep always less than 50% running...if one is not sure that trend will continue...and better still cover at magic numbers....if 500 holds upwards we go to 660....if thaat holds we go 830...if that holds we test next top round number 1000.......vice versa....but down means break 500..test 330...break that we testt lower next round number 1000....

recap...bank them points if trend not 100 %sure bet.....if it is add on trend continuation

I do agree and that's the way I was trading but also a bit too frequently and my win loss % has not been where I want it so trying a different stretegy. I do bank as we go down or up to take something away. Beorn from next door has an interesting strategy. Very wide stops. Backs a trend. I still cut as soon as trade goes against me. Look for better entry. To me this strategy has better chance of success. Unless of course your Zoom. Which we aren't. 👍🏻
