piet the channel is 40700...40660...the low for a day or two would be thereabouts..I think.....

but as the 'hidden pivots' work going down they (fractal) work going up...exppect a relief rally maybe to retrace 31% of this fall.....i expect at least one gap to close...i.e. 42000 as resistance...then doown..then up a little into closeout...but no where near high..as we are rallying now a little...

the market has coiled hard down...so the propensity is to rise for a relief anyway.

but the dow is stubbornly high...it should have tested 16000...and if it does we go to what I say above..

as for the longer term trend....it's down for 2 years...or more....we must test 32490...believe it or not

Post scripto  -

oh and as for the gold price at 5000.....dont think this for one second this would pull up commodity shares....the world is entering recession, coupled wiith a currency crises of rome magnitude....reserve status up for grabs....read my earlier posts...gold is providing ballast...5000 year stability ballast whilst other FIAT currencies collapse....'..the emperor has no clothes..'

what I have noticed here...with respect, people don't seem to read.

opinion or onion?

the rand strength is confusing everyone huh??

i said a few days ago....everyone will be very, very shocked at what happens next....world currencies that used to be the mainstay safehavens...will fall hard

invert the Rand chart...15 year ...that's a parabola...and htperbole....a trap....I expect a reversion to the mean on the regression line

the main currencies specifically the GBP and USD/Canadian are on the way to the bottom of a bucket.

Maybe it expects Yellen to rethink taper, because of weak PPI number.

PPI leads to low CPI

So Forex & equity are expecting diff things

I wonder how is going to be correct

Any ideas why the ZAR is performing the way it is?

Risk aversion should see ZAR tanking?

Maybe it expects Yellen to rethink taper, because of weak PPI number.

PPI leads to low CPI

The problem for US with regard to Ukraine is IMO,

If US and Allies allow Russia to take Crimia.

China is watching closely what the reaction will be.

The Bears have been waiting for this for almost 5 years

Since 2000, the S&P 500 has declined over 25% twice, each decline had this in common.... These S&P 500 bear markets followed a breakdown of a bearish rising wedge at falling resistance by the Nikkei index.

The Nikkei looks to be slipping below support of a bearish rising wedge and is kissing the underside of the wedge as resistance!

Joe Friday.... The prior two times the Nikkei broke down from this pattern at resistance, in time the S&P 500 followed it!  This is not a prediction that the S&P 500 will fall 25% plus!  Joe just suggests to keep your eye on this leading index, because continued weakness by the Nikkei, could impact the S&P 500 again

Why risk will be here for a long time. ALSI to fall 3000pips

The US does not want Russia to take over Crimea. What the west will do to Russia if the vote on Sunday goes in favour of Russia is key to markets.

Most already say Russia has already taken over Crimea, Ukraine gov has already confirmed loosing control of Crimea

Crimean broadcasters are now showing Russian television stations. Flights from Cremia Main porto the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, now depart from the international terminal, suggesting that the rest of Ukraine is now considered a foreign country.

The Russians could also play a disruptive role in Ukraine's national elections, set for May 25, to replace the government ousted last month by protesters in Kiev.

Russia's intervention in Crimea has turned many voters against pro-Russian candidates in Ukraine, according to Leshchenko, the Ukrainian journalist. But, he adds, "Russia doesn't want this election to take place at all and I think they are going to make a great effort to stop the entire process."

Russia also has the ability to put financial pressure on Ukraine, which is extremely vulnerable economically. Moscow is already saying it will increase the price of gas that it ships to its neighbor.

map-ukraine-language-624.png

Putin sees himself as standing up for Russia and ethnic Russians in former Soviet states.

Still, there may be limits to how far Putin will go. He believes Russia should be a major player in many parts of the globe, and if he finds himself isolated over Crimea, it may revise his calculations. In addition, sanctions and other punitive measures may have limited impact in the short term, but could bite over time.

Most powerful man in the world "Putin"

More very loose monetary policy due to inflation below target for US?

Yelen wont allow disinflation.

Lets see if this is still the thinking when US opens.
