If the US earnings are bad this week and  with theTrump trade unwinding ,,,

nevermind what Yellen says later today,,,,,,

the S+P 500 will go down and take us all with it..

But if the results are good !!!

This may be why our Top 40 is going sideways for now....

But yes you are right about the weakening ZAR giving the bears a lot of pain..

Wonder if Zuma and ANC will say that they are good for the market...

Look its going up!!!

It's through it but it would need to confirm it by closing above it. Removed my stop loss. It's worth taking more loss. I guess it's the Rand in the end. Even when the Rand strengthens the JSE doesn't move because the belief is that the Rand is still going to 15.

JSE is overbought on every chart right up until the daily but this doesn't seem to make a difference. The threat of war is another 'risk' that the market is loving. Been a tough 2 weeks for bears here.

If I'm being honest though I think bears might be in a lot of trouble here. I'm going to keep holding because I believe there is a tremendous opportunity to the downside but there's going to be a lot of pain getting there.

Not yet broken right... dow has confirmed weekly negative Macd crossover... is the correction finally here? Or do we break resistance and go skywards?

Looks like the downtrend of the last 18 months is about to be broken. Rand is running away. Stop loss in at 47 050 level. Could make a huge move upwards if that trend confirmed as broken.

Financials just haven't really reacted to the downgrades. Been one of the best things to happen to the JSE in a long time.

These alsi moves are reminding me of

Murray and Roberts.... after they dropped off the top 40... lost 75% of value... liquidity simply dried up

Now that were junk status... will buyers and liquidity dry up on alsi.. how deep will the resulting correction or bear market be...

Forum very quiet today,,,

US premarket going up but will it last???...

Doubt that especially on a Friday with War and turmoil for the weekend...

Our market seems very nervous and seems to be keeping more than one eye on US and FTSE ...

Behaving differently to last 4 days when it was a straight Rand play...

Longer term I am feeling very bearish ( even if ZAR could weaken and try to spoil the party)

Bet that the Big boys think the US has peaked and is at the start of a down ride...

What do you  think???..

OOPS there goes the ZAR again

Got to wonder if this Rand euphoria is coming to an end. The Yield differential between SA and US bonds is nearly 7% and it would seem the Rand has now settled following last weeks incident. Rand has shown tremendous resolve. The unwind of the Rand trade could be very violent should the Rand find strength.

Damn...

these short quickies are not very satisfying....

Everytime the ZAR weakens...

But after Yellen's /FOMC comments about equities,,etc,, being in a bubble they have created...

This must be good for bears....

The correction is coming...

Yup most attractive assets in the world. Almost no risk attached to them.

Especially Tencent. Has to be one of the most euphoric, over-priced shares in the world

US selling off heavily into close... hopefully tencent will do its part and alsi will shoot the lights out tomorrow as the world flock to South African equities... no?

Short 46,732 wish me luck!

Just watch out for Us s&p! It likes to move in the direction oil is moving. And that is up although slightly.
