Trendspotter, a R100k account will be just comfortable (trading 2 or 3 micro contracts at a time). You can even do it with a R50k - R80k account, but then your position size management might suffer a bit.

Look here: http://www.powerstoc...ubscription.php

You will need a PowerStocks Pro subscription to qualify for the Ultra subscription. Wit the R100k account, you will more than justify the cost. As always, there is no fool-safe approach, but there are good ones that offer very favourable and positive NET returns.

How is the Powerstocks subscription, is it worthwhile?  How much does it cost, and what size account do you need to justify the cost

Until we get he HDB Trading System, just go and buy yourself the PowerStocks Ultra subscription, if you are looking for a proven trading strategy with real-time triggers.

Thanks for all the input guys! Sorry for the late reply, but went for a quick run. Learned to take a break first, before doing something drastically, when a trade moves against me - This morning's long. Already looking slightly better, but not too phased; still sitting with a huge short (break-even just above 41000!) to off-set it.

Just wondering, has the SA40 ever dropped by 2000 points plus in "normal" times? Maybe I should blow up a building or something! :o Come to think of it, I wonder how many of these so-called "terrorist incidents" have been cause by BIG traders, bankers and money mongers??! Ah well, maybe just thinking too much!

I agree completely...and comes with many losses...most important learning is money management...

Watched a youtube clip of a woman that started trading in her late 40's (I think), she started with $10,000 and learned/commited/traded with it over the course of 5 years. She then took her retirement money ($100,000) and started up a trading business (received donations as well) and well...made $41 million over the next 3 years trading options on the main indexes!

So you are never too old to learn this business, don't have to be good in maths and it doesn't need to take years before you master the art, but Jesse Livermore also spoke about only starting making real money after 5 years...!Need to see the bigger picture, take it day by day and decide if you're going to continue eating the crumbs or share in the feast as kings! B)

Yes, yes and in excess of 80% if following the guidelines. At times, the short trades do tend to eat into profits, but they do caution newbie traders that shorts are not as profitable as longs.

I have posted before, but I am not using them currently.

I am sure they will whoo you on Tuesday. :)

Attending the Sharenet evening on Tuesday; will hear what they've got to say and then decide. BTW, are you talking from experience? Does it work for you? "Success rate"?
