S, are you trading US indices today?

Have long orders in for a little drop before data @ 3:30 pointing up. Results for US companies above expectations today. Data must also just play with.

Part of Dow order filled @ 159.

Keep Selling the Monkeys

ALSI will never recover

I want to see Dow here in the next few sessions

Besides Apple, but that doesn't matter now. That durable goods data through a spanner in the wheel

Geez, quick recovery. My orders on SNP and lower order on Dow triggered cause I forgot to delete them on the back on the weak data and is green now. First Dow trade closed. Looking to dump for decent profit at open. Very tight SL.

Considering short on Alsi @ 5. Will see what market does till then

Apple down 7.5% in pre-market, pushing NASDAQ futures into the red!

Excuse the busy chart guys. Will post a better one later. I see some more upside to this bounce. And as David pointed out as well, a potential H&S with the right shoulder (upside to around 42k maybe) forming. But yes, if 40800 breaks it is overs...

Nice!! Just hope we get a US dip before SA close and not after... Might see some strong upside tonight, if US follows through with this move. Companies reported today did well.

We should have a couple of retests and we good to go...Argento just wondering what you are thinking about that 41600 level(41800 futures i think) Very solid resistance line but I get a feeling its gonna run thought it like a hot knife through butter this week?

Think you are right with the zig zag and volatile moves, especially tomorrow afternoon with the FED!

Hot knife through butter indeed...but only see the big moves coming in Feb!

Need to watch the weekly macd though...must admit bearish but seasonals calls for one last push up!

Ocean, and others trading IG

Please note that because of 24hrs trading on IG, their MA's amongst others give different values than the charts on Investing etc...

If you look carefully on IG charts, there is an extra bar on Sundays, that the others don't have. These extra values throw off the MA's...

Also make sure whether you are talking about Futures or Spot (Cash)

K

Thanks K and A . Thechart on G Moving Average figures out of whack for Top 4o cash and futures then (and their MA's on their ProRealTime software even more out of whack !!!) - I was starting to disbelief use of MA's on the T40Fs wh I regularly trade! I phoned them now and they are aware of it -

IG and trading SA40 c/f looking at spread and charts are irritating me just a bit, but still cheap and easy to get in. Other CFD's work fine.

My total loss yesterday was 249 points. Slowly crawling back with 113 points so far....missed some major opportunities this morning.

Hi O,

Please see attached (green dotted line)!

AJS, where is your daily 89?

Looks like we have a turnaround...on Tuesday! :)

A

A, my daily 89 sitting at 40493 (40500) indeed! ;)

*edit*, I think O is looking at the SA40 (IG cash) chart.

Entry point with all the buying is about 41635...not lekke!

A, you're brave to have medium term longs here. We might bounce, but still think we're on the down.

What's your pain threshold/stop if we slide further? (And what was your entry level?) If you want to divulge... ;)

Prosperous Trading!

Whenever the market hits you hard one can only learn out of it, the below quote comes to mind, very important and one I let slide...

"Don't trust your own opinion and back your judgment until the action of the market itself confirms your opinion." ~ Jesse Livermore Trading Rule

Markets rarely makes important tops in January and with the TOP40 having the tendancy to put in highs in February that 43300 can come much quicker than one think, this bull (on its last breath) is still alive and my perfect scenario will be a low this week with a massive run and top into the 11th Feb (to finish off the top pattern)... and only then for the real downside action to begin into August!(4/7 year cycles low)

I am clinging on to my longs like a monkey to a banana..don't think the FED wil let this slide go on for much longer!Turn of the tide is near.....

I dont know much but keep this in mind:
1. Fed meeting
2. Our local meeting
3. HS forming on daily with neckline most likely in today and if it fails or works out well then...
4. 3 red days in a row globally will play on the emotions
