I suggest you hold on to the shorts if you can afford it. They'll be in the money soon...(at least in the coming days!)

You can throw in a long hedge if she keeps moving up for now.

Problem seems to be fixed. Was sitting with 2 shorts and OST's poor service has cost me at least R1500. I'm highly peed  off at the moment  :angry:  :angry:  :angry:

I cannot seem to get the updated ALSI prices on Standard Bank OST, which means I cannot trade  :angry:

Is anyone else having the same problem?

Forgive my ignorance....is JSE open today? Should have kept the IGM email with all the trading dates.

 

JSE open indeed.  Dunno why IG SA40 not trading, but maybe it is a "first trading day of the year" thing and it (SA40) only starts trading with the futures at 08:30? Not sure...

I can log in, although the "after hours" SA40 is not trading. Probably only opening at 08:30 today?

Kinda mix bag in the east this morning after China PMI data....

Tencent + BHP seem to have had a good run so the first hour will be interesting.

Whats your take on some sort of a reversal tomorrow and Friday or you see 42k on the cards as well in Jan?

 

The J200 had 9 consecutive up high, low and close day's...so, a short term decline (+- 400 pips) likely to follow. After that, 42,500 as HDB said, very much on the cards.

 

As somebody mentioned, by the end of next week (when the BIG DOGS are getting back in the game) we should get some clarity for the longer term.
