only problem is I still have a few open longs hedged by same number shorts - I heed what Argento said about neg divergence and all logic tell me that every index in sight is overextended and need to retrace for push higher -  but what to do about the very typically positive two days following New Year on both SP500 and Ndq - surely it must be positive for ALSI too come Thursday and Friday ?

 

Yeah, I hear you.  For me: I have a couple of shorts but will wait for Thursday for confirmation to add more. I am done adding 100pts up,the next couple of shorts will be "sell into weakness" shorts.

Long time HDB, welcome back, hope you had a good time off!

 

Don't see it happening with the negative divergence on the weeklies, especially with this new high..I still see one more down leg to end the consolidation phase that started in November, then very bullish yes!

 

Just added my last bunch of shorts...should drop back after 11:30!

Plasma. Well done!! I was a bit sceptical and didn't want to enter a long. Closed my short. don't have the appetite to endure further losses.

 

I see we are going for a new high today.

 

I also expect us to make new highs in the near future, but expect some pullback before we do that. I'll wait till just before close to enter a short again.  If we go back to 41400 before then I will enter a long  till close.

Yep , I also aim for 42000 ( some nice short covering runs included) with a overrun after that - but ,with the S&P very over extended, a pull back is surely imminent, but at what point? typically the first two days after NewYEar is very green for both SP500 and the NDQ for example? and if I remember the third and fourth days after new year is downer days (or just breather days at least) - I dont know the typical probability ALSI pattern post new year

Your advice and view will be appreciated

 

...and shares are over extended - so what to buy?

Didn't wanna play the daily fluctuations. Knew this was likely to happen. Thought we would see upside till about 31250 then way down again.

 

We close at 12 right?

that is typical Alsi... Do what is the least expected.  Entered a short on futures @ 495. Seriously hope to see some more downside today.

 

Just when I decide to go short, sh@t happens. lol. Alsi will probably look for a new high today since I'm short.
