Bad things?? Meaning Volatility?
Bad things meaning more red..VIX is climbing as well so volatility will increase!
But Bulls and Santa will make a late second half December appearance, you can bet on the funds not posting the year/quarter end figures as they reflect now...but need confirmation for that low before the run back up!

Observation... Sunesis is waiting like a crocodile and don't expect a rally just yet. Jakes are so confident of this bear, that he walked away with 100 open contracts. Argento is almost always spot on and predicted downward movement adn still do.
Hmmm. Short is the way to go.

News doesn't have to be bad, just below expectation, no? Sure December sales will be big. But as big as forecast? Every single massmart store is closed for a day of business on Sunday (for example)..
I am following my charts(more whats in front of me) and the news, how can retail sales be bad in this month?

I always think some of these major traders/institutions know the data before it is released. And they can actually move markets. Don't think US data will make us jump 500 points up.
the news could make bears happy then kill them along the way, same for bulls, what do you think?
J, Remember its not the acutual data, but the speculation that causes this mayhem. 1000 points down, think 500 up is fair enough.
R, I see your point and would agree, but this bear is very strong, so I'm cautious. If you think about it, tapering is supposed to be priced in long time ago already, but yet we see slides on fresh speculation everytime. This is purely speculation, but I think we will still have a santa rally, with or without tapering. Right now markets are running a "buy one get one free" discount and someone will pick it up.

R, you have guts. Just before the US data and open? What do you know that we don't?

Agree J Black. It seems as Sunesis has popularised the notion that everything is always up up up. A band of less experienced traders (including myself) is following this sentiment without as much context / understanding.. my opinion, I could be wrong.
Your MAClines might be pointing up but MAC market is still dropping....
