OK a bit off topic, but I need a bit of insight here on my NPN - ZAR down and NPN also down - NPN should be up to my thinking- what is it that it cant move up for last few weeks - not a good sign when this stock dont move up on overall bull market last few weeks---
now the only thing I see going for NPN with PE of >50s is that it has that classical yearned after earnings defence - classically referred to as 'having a moat around entry to its turf' - I specifically refer to Tencents almost monopily in China, as NPN's main asset, and the political moat it has around it (chinese cannot even look at Facebook! also few days ago China polit said it will electronically block anything pro Di La Lama etc etc ) -
is this perhaps the reason for poor recent performance? that people think the recent talks of liberalization and improving living standards will loosen clamp on free thinking?? of course it is not going to happen , not that liberalism and thus no Google etc in China and Tencents turf is still OK --- Gee, even in USA it is not allowed to speak to harshly against your government , as that very brave human, Snowden, recently fond out about democratic USA (but he knew and kept to his principles)
Chinese markets closed down today, due to the Premier being hawkish about monetary policy.
Tencent has more growth than Facebook. The Chinese consumer is still the growth driver behind the bullish view.
Naspers will grow to be a giant company. Naspers still has monopoy in the African Market.
Africa is the next growth story after China.
I would rather buy Tencent than Facebook.
Naspers just taking a well deserved break. It wants to invite all the short sellers, Then wipe their accounts later during the final year end rally when it reports month end.
After Naspers reports, the ALSI will hit the roof.
