Sunesis, I am using IG market, trading the mini contract

Open your pivots, make sure you buy @support levels. Example S1, S2, S3

S2 and S3 are good for buying when market is uncertain.

S1 is good when the market has found a trend and momentum and is moving upward.

If you are a begginer, i would suggest you stick with the long term trend trade.

Thats means you always buy on every dip. Never sell. Rather wait for market to pullback then buy.

It requires a lot of dicipline and patience.

I must check out Oanda - time to put one foot out there too - any idea how do they compare to IG International platform?

and good reminder on the often lower gap on IG pre opening

Oanda is one of the oldest broker in the world. It's very regulated. They don't allow hedging.

The web platform is one the best. For people who cant trade in dollars, it is very simple.

Sign up for the demo to test it.

Then start trading in the world markets.

I am a South African, i stay here. I use IG SA40 for ALSI trades. I use Oanda for my other indices.

I don't trade the futures on IG. Dont concentrate too much on Debt deal. Just trade what the market is doing.

You know most of the time that the ALSI opens lower then goes higher.

You should be familier with that pattern by now.

just want to verify your'e index referred to, is it T40 Spot numbers here or the futures?  there's about 324 dif at moment

seems you feel 39000 reached next 2 days , without definite positive political announcement , is too high  to soon?

As i said just buy anything that dips between 38000-39000 range. We play in that range for now.

Everyone is toting US will not default, that does not say they wont hit the debt ceiling, I think it is no probable that the ceiling will be reached.

But US might still not default though.

Buy the rumour sell the fact

You braver than me O..I think we gonna hit 38500 this morning again..Just too much uncertainty at the mo althought 38500 is my entry point on my chart

As long as this US debt ceiling spectre is hanging over the markets, we shall have volatility. But once it is resolved, expect a big pop.

I'm getting ready with longs @38550-ish. If she gets there, I'll wait at 38000 with the kitchen sink (on or about the 17th.)

Americans need to make changes to their political system - they are damaging one of their most  important asset, global confidence for political party level horseplay (it is all to do with republicans/Democrats trying to gain ground for the next election already I think) - but I agree with this mornings view of the Chinese that it is now time to de-Americanize the world (not going to happen soon!) - as to China , their exports should drop relative to domestic consumption as their labour become expensive and living standards are improved and liberalized - but if exports drop and domestic consumption not increased then it is negative for equity
