All depends on which number the little white ball stops at.

Red or Black

:P

Lol  ;) Sounds about right, certainly does look that way. I'll wait until equities market opens.

Any opinions on how our market will open today?

All other markets looking green today. Seems the RED experienced yesterday was factoring in US shutdown. That ship has now sailed, so do we continue the uptrend?

Do not try and bend the market. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. Then you'll see, that it is not the market that bends, it is only yourself.

but in all seriousness, what hasnt been mentioned is that these increasing self imposed fiscal risks to the US economy is only increasing the likelihood that the Fed will need to maintain QE for a longer than expected, and that is not priced into EMs yet so do not be surprised if we see a rally, counter to conventional wisdom  :P

Agreed! This is more likely to keep tapering off the table for now!

Bloomberg scaring the hell out of my longs... Notice how nobody is talking about gold... Should this thing implode... Maybe locking in some gold longs first thing tomorrow isn't a bad idea?

What are you trading, Ninja?

Gold miners are in the process of basing right now. Going long may work, but your S/L will have to be tight.

Newgold's link to the rand makes things quite unpredictable and volatile.

If you trade offshore, it starts looking like a proposition.

That said, I'm suspicious of gold. It may take another leg south to $1150 or so, before staging a real comeback. Interest rates are still very low and inflation not yet an issue.

My 1c...

advice to self... enter longs in stages each day.... don't get in all at once...  coz she could dip deeper before bouncing. that being said i'm 30% long... 20 % short and 50% cash

Tiny positive divergence creeping in (30min)...but tomorrow make or break!

If tomorrow is red then we are in for a more serious correction, if not gonna aim for the stars! ;)

Now we know why Ben didn't taper QE .. Coz he knew prospect of govt shutdown would do the same trick.. Worst case, US govt shutdown for a couple of hours then agreement and one hell of a rally!! Looking to cover some shorts today!
