Agree. We will know shortly,
Well, Tencent is down > 2%... And judging be the wild swings of NPN and the weighting on the index... Well, we might just see some red.

This market can move either direction very quickly depending on what news comes out of the US re the latest political nonsense. Between now and Tuesday its silly season.

RSA bond yield is slightly up, East and West Exchange futures pointing down, ALSI not showing much commitment...think I will put in a short this morning.

Quotes sound scary... Who knows alsi may rally and defy all odds as per usual.... Or we could have our 1000 point plus drop!!!

Anyone have any thoughts on what's happening in Italy and the US and how it will affect our markets on opening monday?
The latest developments increase the odds of at least a partial government shutdown, which would begin on Tuesday. Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have said they won’t accept changes to the health-care law in exchange for temporary government funding. If House Republicans and Senate Democrats cannot agree by the Tuesday-morning deadline, thousands of government employees will be unable to work.
A government shutdown would likely mean the U.S. jobs report for September won’t be released on Friday. The employment data would be the last major labor-market release before the Federal Reserve meets in October to decide whether to slow monetary stimulus.
Another budget deadline, one with more potential to roil markets than a shutdown, will attract attention ahead of Oct. 17, when the U.S. reaches its debt limit. Obama on Friday urged Congress to raise the debt limit before Oct. 17 and act to avert the shutdown

Hi guys, eventually back at a computer. Thanks for all your concern, but no worry; I opened my first long at 39970 and 3 times again on supports, to end up with a average (break-even) price of 39874, which got closed with a limit order @ 39889, even before 09h00 this morning (got the SMS). After the interest paid overnight, I ended up with a small profit of R1200! But I will not make this mistake again (hope not to)... Enjoy the weekend!

Let me qualify: Break above 39700 (J200) before 16:20 and a possible long scalp.
Didn't happen when you anticipated it to, but does seem to be happening... Good call.

My money is on a short slide (perhaps short-lived) when US opens, due to concerns around US Federal Budget.
