one of my own problems, is confirmation bias. reason why i stay away from any and all forums while the market is open. genuine people make very cogent arguments that has the propensity to cost me.

Can any of you guys who keep a trade for 500 to a 1000 pips tell me about your mental processes during such a trade, with reference to how you cope with 200 to 300 pip swings against you. Thank you kindly...
i booked myself into 'funny farm'. it is a MPB on any medical fund. helped to understand my own self and just a goodish idea of how crazy i actually am 
after burning three reasonable sized trading accounts (spaced over years), i now have a system that suits me. the current volatility is a fantastic test and i remain comfortable with it. even with this rather large gap up this morning, i walked away with a profit. my position size is also small enough to let me sleep well.

The 38.2 retracement of Intermediate III puts her exactly on the 42500 (cash) / 42770 (futures) area so that is the levels I am watching next week for an uber buying opportunity!
Let's see if the bulls had enough...should take some time forming a top again!

You need deep pockets P...can't have stops of only 200 points, especially on IG!
But most importantly need to identifiy the trend....it being short, medium and long term and trade accordingly!
But with these wild swings even wave riders gets scared!

Thanks guys. Probably need to move to the 1 h frame to manage a longer term trades and bring in the multiple contracts to offset the mental anguish. 
The first goal is to ensure survival – avoid the risks that can empty your account and put you out of the trading business.
