That index and its signals let me down in the past!

Hi Argento, 

 

So if VIX breaches the upper bollingerband and comes back is that a buy signal? And if it breaches the lower  bollingerband and comes back would that be a sell signal?

Yip, same principal as normal market when a bollingerband gets breached...so in this case VIX will move down now and markets back up (so a buy)!

 

Very important indicator to watch!

 

Bears had a quick party..now bulls are back!

This time it looks like the long signal was valid so shorts beware!Luckily recovered from yesterday...

 

VIX also gave a buy signal last night for SPX by breaching the bollingerband and coming back!(Caldaro's chart)

VIX moves in opposite direction to the market. It is a fear gauge. Market up = VIX down and vice versa.

yesterday was an over reaction. in order for this to turn back up there needs to be a rethink of th shares bought and sold yesterday. Gold index needs to correct first before the market will go back up, The indexes seem to be slowly comming back to Zero. it will go down till the overreaction wears off.

S&P 500 down -0.41%
Dow down -0.42%
 
Asian markets are higher so far. The Nikkei 225 is up 0.26% while the Hang Seng is up 0.09%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.
 
Mixed markets. Looks like an opening short position for ALSI or does it, will see? 
 


If the down channel breaks and holds then long it is, if fails then leg C still in the making = target 45200

Had a trailing stop on ONE contract; last time I looked SL was at 46029; got stopped out at 46009! IG not crooked?! Wanna tell me there were no buyers at 46029 for ONE contract!??

Ah well, now my position is neutral again for the night; let me go listen to some lekker loud music rather...

You are not alone Delta, i started off with a 7k profit and ended up with an 80k loss.

Playing this thing teaches you one thing, money what's that? I find it quite difficult when I shout out of the office F%^&*(k and the wife comes in and I say just lost 100K, and not 5 minutes later I am back in with a new set of trades, followed by a sharp slap to the back of my head, I love my wife, the bruise on the back of my head not so much.

money has less meaning now, its just another number i have to deal with every day.

Stepping back...

 

 

The Primary bull has 5 Primary waves (legs)…

3rd leg: my provisional high side target is 48667 – (top here is influential to target for 4th leg) – now looks like (iii) topped at 47276 and now in (iv) trying to find start of (v) and presently favoring 45361. {Caldaro thinks SPX 3rd leg top is probably in}

4th leg target by previous 4th guideline is 39620 {or if 3rd has topped at (iii) and 4th = 2nd can be 42079}.

5th leg target has a low low of 47524, a low of 48429 and a possible high of 53874.

 

And so I take it that there will more than likely be a 47524 moment eventually.
