Today, against my better judgment I attempted to play this intra-day game. I decided to compose a poem.....

This moning she gapped open
my smile started to gleam
I decided to short this gal
and upwards she went, it seemed

I closed my losing trade suddenly
and immediately I went long
Just to my utter dismay
To find out I was wrong

I then went short again
just following the trend
Only to find out soon after
it had been the wrong order I had sent

So my day was dismal
all I could say was f#$@it
Currently I am still short
and 8 grand out o pocket!

The morale of the story. Stick to what you know. No more intra day trading for this fellow!

It is good advise. I gave good advice. In your blind world I am not only the only one that can see, I am the only one that can see through you.

I think you smoke too much of your own ....

Open Interest 101 by TradeBit

By analyzing the changes in the open interest figures at the end of each trading day, some conclusions about the day’s activity can be drawn.
Increasing open interest means that new money is flowing into the marketplace. The result will be that the present trend (up, down or sideways) will continue.
Declining open interest means that the market is liquidating and implies that the prevailing price trend is coming to an end.
Knowledge of open interest can prove useful toward the end of major market moves.
A levelling off of open interest following a sustained price advance is often an early warning of the end to an up trending or bull market.

Sorry Guys, but open interest for volitility's sake. Ha Ha nice!

Maybe I am missing what you are throwing.

Are you saying open interest will have no effect on volatility, mr Wikipedia?

This is a crazy market.

Prices just going sideways.

The 1 hour BB are tightening and that means a big move coming.

Which way up or down  will be guess work.

I will wait for market to show its hand.

I don't trust this move up in the US!

Looks like the same type of pattern we are making with serious downside coming!

It has negative divergence all over it!

HDB, calm down man, it's my intention to mingle, I have a mind, knowledge, and trading is what I do.

Ask a question, maybe we both learn something!

Yes it can, on 30/05/13 it was 166,783 followed by a 9.03% drop. I do not follow it for direction..more for volatility.

@ Argento, no i don't know, i just have the total open interest numbers.

So you dont think that the number of open contracts will have any effect on volatility?

or  big moves coming?

It cant possibly be positioning for an event or anything?

PS. Dont make your incompetence clear on your first posts.

Couldn't this apply in reverse as well?

Yes it can, on 30/05/13 it was 166,783 followed by a 9.03% drop. I do not follow it for direction..more for volatility.
